Sounds like the 5.9 (?) Cummins. Manual trans is the way to go. I just hate Dodge trucks. But I currently drive a Duramax so maybe I'm just biased. :p

My dad and I were members on powerstroke.org. I had no reason to be but learned a little bit while on there. We did the head gaskets on his 6.0 a few summers ago. He also did a turbo rebuild and rebuilt a few of the injectors as well. Prior to that we did EGR fix and some other mods/fixes. Great truck. Just expensive to get it there.

The 6.0 is a fantastic motor, once bullet proofed. Had a few pushing 800+whp 1200FT/TQ and they ran great. Takes around 4500 bucks or so here in my area to bullet proof one, but it will run just as long as a 7.3 after that

My dad likes his. Plenty of power with his tuner and it does what he needs it to do. Pulls way harder than my LBZ actually, but I don't have a tune so he's cheating. :p I think he's put 50-60k miles on it since we did all the bulletproofing. Only issues since have been suspension related which is a whole other story in itself.

That is one advantage to the 6.0. When BP and tuned, those things pull real effing hard. They spool super fast and just keep pulling.

The thing is louder than hell too. Stock exhaust and at idle it's louder than my truck with a straight pipe.

I've noticed too that there's a huge cult following for the 6.0 vs the other Ford motors. Super Duty Service (Anthony Youngblood on YouTube I think) seems to have a great deal of experience with the 6.0. Not sure if he does the other engines too or if they're strictly 6.0.

Yea they are loud, and if you put the MBRP with 5" tip it sounds like an F18 taking off when you spool it up. Majority of 7.3 guys have migrated to 6.0s because of the design and similarities is shares with 7.3. Also those same guys hate all of the new emission shit so they have began to turn the 6.0 into the following the 7.3 had/still has

    this.

But you could get an arb air locker, or do a full axle swap if you found one cheap. Gearing will be definietly different from the 5 lugger though.

My best friend Doug (also an Aspie) is Jewish, and since it's Hanukkah, I figured I'd share this very funny story.

The two of us used to volunteer at the local food pantry. He probably started volunteering there early 2011. I came along towards the end of 2011, probably right before Thanksgiving. We were both there until early 2012.

This one time, we were sorting canned goods, and I came across a can of Jewish something. I forget what the hell it was (I think it was either corn or potatoes). I showed it to Doug and I'm like "Doug, why is this called Jewish so-and-so?" Doug literally scratches his head and says "I dunno, it wears a yamaka?" I thought I was going to die laughing!

That's Doug for you... Such a lovable wiseass!

Yup! I believe that was the day I got my driver's license! Sadly, the 2003 Highlander is no longer with us, but it gave it's life to safe Doug's...

Doug's vehicle was a 2003 Toyota Highlander Limited 4WD (he totaled it about 26 months after this picture were taken; now he has a 2011 Nissan Altima 3.5SL)
