Going back and looking at the pics again it appears there is some kind of receiver in the ground, guess you just stick a post down in.

Yep, that's the new quick style. Like a hollow vinyl 4x4 then new mail box post mounts to that.

However TnShooter has a great idea!

We've lived here since the spring of 2016, and I thought there was a wooden post in there all these years! I'm glad they went cheap, because then my truck might have actually been damaged if they did it right!

And I though that the builder was cheap for using Goodman HVAC equipment; they couldn't even be bothered to spent eleven dollars on a damn wooden post?!?!

    That foam is good stuff.
Once you think you have it “just” perfect in the hole.its too much.
It just keeps growing. A sawzall with course tooth makes quick work of the excess.
And it doesn’t come off shoes. It leaves a permanent yellow stain:anonymous:

I don’t think it matters any more.
The best one is the one that can be serviced.

    I’ve started asking the following.

    1. What’s your typical response time for a service call.
    2. Do you keep common failure parts on hand?
    3. Is labor covered under the warranty?

Ours went out 3 different times in the summers. The avg wait time for a fix was 5 days each time.
Once it took the over 48 hrs to get here. They never had the parts on hand. It took 10 days one of those time.

As the owner of an older Goodman product, what's your overall opinion? I think pre-2006 Goodman air-conditioners and heat pumps, with the exception of the 1990s units that had the isolated compressor cabinets, are junk. 2006 and newer is built somewhat better, and has the benefit of a scroll compressor. Pre-2006 has noisy and less durable reciprocating compressor. It's one thing if the house you buy has Goodman, but I would never install it in new construction or replace an existing unit with one...

    I'll start from the beginning...

There have been a bunch of accidents resulting from people blatantly running red lights, so Warrington Township decided to take full advantage of the situation and start generating revenue. They put up NO TURN ON RED signs at a major intersection that I drive through every day, and they are starting to install a shit-ton of red light cameras. The NO TURN ON RED signs at this particular intersection are infuriating, because as I said, I travel this route daily and being able to make a right on red is very convenient.

So, I was on my way to pick up an Uber Eats order at the McDonald's on Easton Road in Horsham, and I made a right from Street Road onto Easton Road. It was at that moment that I remembered the NO TURN ON RED thing, freaked out, and glanced to to my left. Luckily, the right arrow was green. However, I was looking at the green light instead of the road and drove over a curb to my right.

It was en route to McDonald's that the truck started acting weird. No lights came on immediately, but the truck felt sluggish unless I really buried the gas pedal, and when I took my foot off the gas it really slow down as if there was a large boat anchor chained to the hitch receiver. Then, the brake pedal started to become very spongey and the truck was noticeably slower. I pulled into the McDonald's parking lot, got the order, and got back in the truck. I started the engine, shifted into reverse, and realized that truck wouldn't even roll; I had to floor it to make the truck move backwards a few miles per hour. I shifted into drive, and was about that time I noticed that ABS and traction control lights were on. At this point, the truck slowed to a crawl and I was luckily able to move it out of the the way of other vehicles before it refused to move at all, as seen below...

Almost exactly a decade ago, in February 2014, my master cylinder failed and I had to have the truck towed because the brakes were forcibly applied and the front wheels would not move. The pushrod was jammed in and the whole master cylinder had to be replaced as a result, in a truck that was less than five years old at the time and had maybe 35K miles; I popped the hood to have a look at the master cylinder as I thought this was the case again. Nothing was leaking from anywhere, though I did notice a mysterious burning chemical smell when I first got out of the truck after arriving at McDonald's; I now believe that this was from the adjacent construction site and not from my truck...

I discovered almost immediately that the master cylinder was not the issue. When my truck was being winched onto the flatbed, the front and rear wheels were spinning freely. Following the 2014 incident, the rear wheels spun freely but the front wheels would not turn at all because the brakes were jammed...

So after calling AAA and having the truck flatbedded to Pete's, just for grins I decided to try getting the truck to move one more time. It was at this point that I discovered the warning lights were out, and the truck would move freely under its own power backwards and forwards. I am still not going to chance it though and I had my dad pick me up; I believe that the (A) some sort of control module is failing due to old age, or more than likely (B) hitting the curb jostled one of the wheel speed sensors. I've had wheel speed sensors fail before and cause the ABS and traction control lights to come on simultaneously, but this is first time it has ever rendered my truck completely immobile. Here's a shotgun seat view from inside the flatbed truck on the way to Pete's...
