The truck itself had no damage from hitting the mailbox, but the bullbar has a bit of a scar...

Are you going to borrow a vehicle foe a few days while your truck is being worked on?

A few days? If it's the part I think it is, it'll be a few hours. I'm gonna be driving Amanda to work in my mom's Murano though...

I was leaning towards more caution as there is usually time needed to diagnose the issue and sometimes parts need ordered. But hoping you are correct that it will get diagnosed and fixed in short order.

    I’m kind of confused?
    Is brake reservoir low?
Or is that a picture of the old one a few years back?

My theory is, you jammed on the brake hard enough to activate the abs.
And possibly one or more of the valves in the ABS module became stuck?

I would have pulled the ABS fuse and seen if it “unlocked” the brakes.

Don’t feel bad buddy. My truck is doing some weird stuff too.
If the engine is “cold”, it will crank about 1.5x times a fire up. But sound like a “miss” right before it fires up. But, it starts super fast. Normally, it would spin the engine over about 3x before it starts.

IDK, weird. If you let the truck warm up, it’s back to normal. Crank, crank, crank, Start.
All I know is, I definitely don’t want it to be a starter issue. It’s a pain in the ass in the 4WD trucks.
But typically, starters fail when hot. Not cold.

Beats, me. We’ll know soon enough I guess:oops:

I think that the reservoir looks low because the brake pedal was fully depressed. With my luck since the frame replacement, I would not be surprised if the ABS module decided to spontaneously shit the bed...

If it is that module wouldn't think it would be very expensive, maybe somewhere around 200 bucks.

Even if something costs a thousand bucks or more to replace, I feel like it's still more cost effective than taking out a loan and buying something new...

I've seriously never heard of that happening; $1,500 you say? Still better than spending thirty grand on a newer truck and having payments!

It's usually a busted pan. Not rust that gets them.
