Especially since it's not unheard of for the speed sensor to go..not on our truck but in general I mean.

So I tallied it up, and I spent like $1,700 on the truck in 2023 not including oil changes and the backup camera fuckup. This included a new radiator, rewiring the HVAC system, a wheel speed sensor if I'm remembering correctly. A year of monthly payments on a newer truck would probably be $5,000-$6,000.

Mine recently rotted. $1100 for that, new oil/filter, and trans fluid drain/fill and filter

I'm really hoping that I just knocked a speed sensor loose. The fact that the problem seemingly vanished once I had the truck dropped off at my mechanic, I'm thinking something got damaged rather than outright broken...

    I almost never see that.
I see dented pans a lot. But not rotted pans.

I've heard of engine mounts rusting, but not parts of the engine; I chose to have my engine mounts replaced when the frame was replaced, just because...

    Good choice. No better time.

As for the truck. Let Pete figure it out.
    Don't worry about it.

I also had the water pump replaced at the time of the frame replacement and didn't get charged for labor, and my parents bought me Bilstein shock absorbers as an early Christmas present that were also installed free of charge!

    I'll stay here in Tn.
Only two places I'd move north are Southwestern Virginia or West Virginia.

Totally. Never got to see any of those guys sadly. Had tix to see Linkin Park and Chester died about 1-2 weeks prior. I could have seen Soundgarden and NIN free in 2011, but that was also the weekend of my wife's birthday and no way I was leaving. It was a 3 day funfest at the family's house.

$1100 was the final tally. He said $1500 top dollar as the book was giving him the highest labour hours but that he felt he could do it faster on a 2WD and was right.

Which I think is fair to not include those items. Oil changes is something any vehicle needs just like fuel and the camera thing is a preference. Think about this, what could you buy for that $1700 or about $150 a month? NOTHING

    Perfect world yes.

What else could have possibly happened? Do ABS modules just fail at random?

Agreed usually dents or breaks are more likely. My mounts were fine at the time

    Don't torture him haha

Couldn't say. I've only owned 3 vehicles with it myself

@Plain Jane Taco said that someone he knew with a Tacoma went through a frame replacement, and things started breaking seemingly at random after that. I feel like my truck has needed a lot more things replaced since the frame job...

They can, but it's highly unusual.

I think your issue was caused by bouncing off a curb.
I mean, If someone bounced me off a curb, I'd be f'ck'd up for a few mins too.

It'll be alright. Walk it out.
    I mean, Drive it out:thumbsup:

Whatever happened to him? He sold the Taco, stuck around for a bit, then disappeared.

Also, I need new tires soon; I've on my third set of Cooper Discoverer AT/3s in about 90K miles, and the only reason I replaced the first set early is because I got the lift kit and wanted to go up a size. I am considering General Grabbers this time...
