I really don't want to finance something that old though; I would rather scrimp, save, and pay cash!

I will by the 2015 TRD Sport 6-speed if the price is right, but I'm leaning more towards automatic...

The 6 speed would be pretty sweet.

Was gonna ask about the seatcover and fogs..on the latter I'd send my stockers as part of it if you just need something to drop in..maybe that sweet grille too with my stocker or my aftermarket coming back

You don't want the seat cover. After more than five years, it's pretty beat...

Just got a call from Michael Graham at Thompson. That goddamn ABS module won't be in until the end of the month!

    Go get the truck.
    Pull the ABS fuse.
Take truck back to dealership when part arrives.

The dealership probably won’t pull the fuse for you. I bet they won’t even tell you that you can do that. It’s a liability risk on their end. But you’ll have the truck back.

The other day when you had the truck towed one of my fears was it would be held up for an extended period because lately parts are not readily available.

Michael got back to me two hours or so later and said that they had found the part. It is supposed to be there tomorrow, and at the very latest I will be getting my truck back on Monday; I do not feel safe driving without the ABS artificially disabled. It is one thing to drive a vehicle with no ABS from the factory, but I am weary of disabling ABS in a vehicle that came with it.

And also, I basically got a free test drive of a 2023 Taco out of it; I can tell you after driving this truck for two days, the same way I would drive my own truck, I definitely would NOT want a 2.7L 3rd Gen unless it was stick shift! Now, if somebody just signed over the title to a 2.7L/auto 3rd Gen and gave me the truck for free, that would be a different story; I will not pay almost thirty grand for something that accelerates slower than the truck I own that's paid off!

Definitely not ideal this time of year with the junk weather.

I don't think Charlie is going to get rid of his truck.
If I were getting rid of a truck, I would not fix the ABS at dealership cost.
I'd sell it as is and knock off some the ABS issue.
Plenty of people would be just fine fixing that themselves.

Just making sure I get first spot in line since our trucks are twins.

The linings that expand inside the rear brake drums have totally seized and have to be replaced, so the brake fluid can't be bled and the truck can't be driven. By the time this is over, I will have spent about $2,600 on domino effect caused by a malfunctioning ABS/traction control module. I would rather my money earns interest than be withdrawn and used as a down payment on a newer vehicle. Luckily, I have parents who are willing to help me out while I'm between jobs; I'm a bit pissed that I have to spend my tax refund on truck repairs instead of buying a new camera like I planned on doing, but I need a vehicle more than I need a new camera (my current camera works fine).

Future plans for my truck include new taillights (one of them is cracked), metal guards for the taillights (so the new ones don't broken), new carpeting, and a new brake/shift interlock device; I've got to keep this truck on the road at least one more year!

Sounds like bad wheel cylinders if it can't be bled.

The front brakes are fine and they traced it all the way the to the rear brakes; I am getting my brakes replaced at 190K when I bring it to my mechanic for an oil change. Tires are getting replaced at 195K.
