@Stitchgirl90 and I had the honor of meeting Chad Lindberg, probably best known for playing "Jesse" in The Fast and the Furious, at the Philly Auto Show yesterday! There was a long line for the meet and greet, but he happened to go over to his character's car to meet some fans, and he posed for a picture with us!

 

Jesse's iconic 1995 Volkswagen Jetta was on display!

 

Screen-used, right down to being full of bullet holes from the drive-by shooting that killed Jesse at the movie!

 

Paul Walker's screen-used Evo from 2Fast 2Furious was also at the show!

 

Nice. I saw Suki’s ride from 2 Fast 2 Furious a few years ago. Thing was a hunk of junk. But cool to see.

Not seen any of the others.

But, I was a part of the Honda scene after the movie came out.
Banging 8k+ RPM semi-regularly on the B16A2.
You'll not see me diss on Honda.

I mean, mine buried the tack at over 9,500 RPM once. Probably over 10k......The Tach only went to 9.5
I'll let you guess what happened there.

 

Those are kinda cool, the powerband is quite high in the Rev Range though which I assume would be a bit of a different driving experience.

The s2000 was one of the pioneers for Honda to go to a timing chain, those were golden progress years for them.

 

Had a hell of a stereo though, with the interactive AI anime girl. A salvage title S2000 would make one hell of a track car!

 

The S2000 along with the NSX were like the two legendary Hondas that sort of came and went, and finding one that has not been molested by idiot tuners is virtually impossible, and will cost you a lot of money if you do. I never got one because I literally can’t fit into one which really sucks because I’ve been told they are some of the most fun cars to drive

I grew up on the "no replacement for good old displacement" stuff and while true then, computerization did change the game big time.

 

The only people who embraced that mantra fully were the Germans.

A lot of American cars used the displacement argument for lazy engineering and getting less than 300 hp from engines with more than 5 L in displacement.
