A similar thing happened a couple weeks ago like two miles from my house, and it did not end well for the biker. A guy on a Kawasaki Ninja cut the line, ran a red light, hit a Ford F550 pulling a trailer, and bounced off the back of a Chevy Tahoe. He died on the scene.

The guy on the bike was like 43...

My problems these tend to be exclusively with under the age of 30, and not always while driving. There was the long-haired kid in Carlisle a week ago who almost ran me over in the Sheetz parking lot and had the nerve to get upset with me because I gave him a dirty look.

A few months ago, a kid was who probably in the range of 16 to 18 years old was in line in front of Amanda and me at Wawa. He and his friend, seemingly done, walked away from the register, and I approached the register. The kid realized he forgot something and actually attempted to physically push me out of the way. Not even twenty years ago, I would have kicked his ass without hesitation, but I moved out of his way and then went on a rant to the cashier about what an asshole he was. Amanda witnessed it too, and both she and the cashier agreed that he was an asshole.

I don't know man. Age alone should not account for leniency.
Let's say a 30 year old, and an 80 year old, do the same crime.

So we are going to send the 30 year old to jail, and let the 80 year old go home?
That doesn't sound to fair to me.

A felony charge? And she was sober, clean record, and no known cognitive issues?

I fully understand people died. But a felony charge is hard to live with.

Maybe in this case, it's better she is 80 years old.

But a felony charge will screw your life up forever.
Unless you have enough money to make it "go away".
In which case, you wouldn't have got the felony charge in the first place.

I have no idea if it was a felony charge; I know she lost her license and I heard from my aunt that she wanted to get her license back and start driving again. She could have had cancer or other underlying health issues that I don't know about; I also don't know about you, but I wouldn't like my tax dollars being used to imprison a woman in her 80s who isn't a threat to society. Her keys and license were taken, so there's not much harm she can do.

Hate that shit. It's usually those same people who are the first ones to scream about sharing the road. I'll share the road absolutely, semi truck down to unicycle, but we all follow the same rules.

Boston is having a big problem with e-bikes/mopeds/scooters in traffic as well.

My point was, 30 or 80, the jail time shouldn’t make a difference.
If neither was a threat to society, let them both go.

I don’t know what the hell I have at this point. My doctor diagnosed it as a sinus infection on Tuesday and put me on Zithromax (best known as the Z-Pack) for a few days. The Z-pack cleared my sinuses, but I still can’t hear very good due to my ears being stuffed up, and I am still prone to coughing fits.

I flat out refused to wear a mask in the hot kitchen due to my sensory issues, and my bosses have backed off on that. They were never particularly mask-aggressive to begin with, but I laid down the law as soon as it was suggested; I DO NOT DO MASKS.

Amanda was confirmed to have bronchitis, also on Tuesday. She was out of work for one day and is doing better with an antibiotic, but she is also still prone to coughing fits, and her nose is still stuffed up.

My friend Helen thinks that I picked up something from someone in the nursing home that I don’t have an immunity to, or that Amanda caught something she didn’t have an immunity and gave it to me. The difference between me and Amanda is that I seem to have caught it before it morphed into bronchitis.

I was more or less compliant with mask mandates through the end of 2021, but the “mandatory masks for employees” rule at Spirit Halloween pushed me over the edge. After more than a month of dealing with that bullshit, I was done.

I begrudgingly put up with the mask mandate in the waiting room at my therapist, but by the middle of 2022 I stopped complying with that too. The mandate was finally lifted in May 2023.

Aside from my therapist’s office, I haven’t seen a business with universal masks mandates in more than two years (about March 2022, I believe).

I begrudgingly wore a mask into the doctor’s office this past Tuesday, and about flipped out in the nurse when I was forced to take a COVID test, despite saying that I’d taken one the night before and tested negative.

When I had COVID last Thanksgiving and Amanda was borrowing my truck, I just stayed away from my parents and didn’t wear a mask. Both of my parents ended up getting COVID a second time, but came through it just fine.

I still refuse to wear a mask, so I just stay away from my parents for now.

    I have no idea man.
    So far, I've been lucky.

Only thing i have is sore legs from installing a subsurface water drain.
I hate corrugated flex pipe. everything has to be 100% flat with slope.
No dip or high spots any where. Other wise water will settle in the lows.

And no, No gravel was used in the base. It was for a gutter drain.

I'm beat. I have no plan to do ANYTHING today.

Mask don't bother me too much. But I'm used to wearing them when I mulch leaves in the fall or first few cuttings in the spring.

And when I'm crawling around under houses or in attics. But let's not talk about that.

I don’t mind wearing masks for legitimate safety/work reasons, but I cannot stand and for the most part refuse to wear the KN95 and surgical-type masks…

I just left a Facebook group called “The REAL Doylestown Uncnesored” based in my area because apparently they don’t like it if you post too many things in a single day…

These damn Facebook groups have been getting a bit obnoxious with their rules lately; I will not be naming names of other groups, because I fear retribution.

However, just to give you an idea there’s this one car group I am in that changes its rules constantly. Unbeknownst to me, the group added a rule that no links to outside groups may be posted; I shared a post from another car group, and the OP removed it. This left my repost as just a link to the other group, and as a result, I was restricted from posting for several days; I promptly went directly to the head honcho of the group, threw a fit, and explained the situation. The restriction was lifted.

I’m guessing that a lot more people were wrongfully restricted when the posts they shared were removed, so now there’s a rule that posts cannot be shared from other groups; I just screenshot posts from other groups now…

The other one is simply “Doylestown”; I have been banned from the group two or three times, and only one of those times was my own doing.

I would regularly post pictures of cool cars I saw around town, even blacking out license plates in the name of privacy. One day in 2020 or 2021, I posted pictures of a McLaren that I saw driving through town. For absolutely no reason, it was removed; I immediately questioned the head admin of the group.

I was told that it was against group rules to post pictures of vehicles photographed outside of car shows due to “privacy concerns”. I flipped out, called the guy a nazi, and was promptly banned; I begrudgingly apologized a few minutes later and was let back in…

During this time, I started complaining about “Doylestown” in the “Warrington Uncensored” group, which at the time was run by my neighbor who installed the stereo in my truck.

There are tattletale loyalists in Warrington Uncensored, and someone dimed me out to the Doylestown admins, or quite possibly there was a Doylestown admin in the group was a member of Warrington Uncensored. In short order, someone woman I’d never met was messaging me, saying that I’d been given a second chance and I’d better cut it out.

Needless to say, I rarely post in Doylestown anymore because it seems like they will arbitrarily kick people out of the group for damn near anything.

The first time I posted pics of my truck in the group with the Christmas lights on it, I mockingly asked the admins if they would like to see a picture of the title to my truck as proof that it was mine. Luckily, everyone knows that’s my truck and it is never questioned…

And here’s another good one, not FB-related…

My neighbor Mike and his wife Megan have a 2023 Jeep Wagoneer and a 2019-2020ish Nissan Armada. The Nissan was a gift for Megan, and Mike opted to keep driving his 2009 Nissan Maxima with almost 200K miles to save money. Something expensive finally broke in the Maxima, and he replaced it with brand new Wagoneer last year…

Not an obscenely overpriced Grand Wagoneer, but a moderately overpriced Wagoneer

They were the second family in my neighborhood to buy a Wagoneer. This thing has been in and out of the dealer for the last several months for various electrical problems. Most recently, there was an issue with the oil pressure and the Jeep has been at the dealer for days. Initially, the dealer put them in a rented Ford Expedition, and now they have another Wagoneer.

Another neighbor, also named Mike, bought his family a brand new $80K Lincoln Navigator. The Lincoln spent most of its time under their ownership in the shop and the transmission went at 28K miles. They decided to get rid of it under the Lemon Law, but Ford fought it and they had to go to court; Ford ended up buying the Lincoln back and paying off the loan, while my neighbors bought a Cadillac Escalade, which they still have.
