My mom lived in Connecticut from the early 1960s until she left for college in about 1977. One of her sisters found the Scottie at a yard sale back in the late 1960s or early 1970s when they were living in Connecticut; I was given the Scottie in 1999 when my grandma sold the house in Connecticut and moved to a retirement community in Virginia. My mom and one her older sisters were living in Virginia at the time, so this influenced her decision. She lived in that facility until her death in January 2015.

Pentastar stuff has fallen from grace harder than any other automaker in my book. Yeah the new Dart was a shitter but basically a damn Fiat!

My friend had a Journey, I don't remember it being that terrible overall. Her Avenger she recently parted with was getting costly but almost 200K miles

 

That particular group is “family friendly” and is run by people with old school values. It is exclusively a car group.

 

That makes sense then. Seems silly but understandable..I'm sure if I said "hell" in my mom's presence she'd get angry

Amanda’s adoptive parents are super-religious and don’t like any profanity in their present, but mention of flatulence in their presence doesn’t seem to bother them in the slightest. The most annoying religious thing about Amanda’s parents is their stance on premarital sex; Amanda is 34 and I am 35. We both have full-time jobs. Amanda rents a room in an old lady’s house and I still live with my parents, but my parents could seriously care less what goes on in my bedroom when the door is closed…

Amanda and I have done it in my room both of my parents are home…

Amanda’s parents, meanwhile, can’t even fathom that we slept in the same hotel room in Carlisle (albeit in different beds). Even if we were abstinent and waiting until our wedding night, Amanda and I cannot afford two hotel rooms. One hotel room in Carlisle came to $577 for two nights!

Amanda snores like a straight-piped diesel pickup truck, and I would love to have a separate room just for this reason! However, we can’t afford to spend almost $1,200 for two hotel rooms. If Amanda’s parents wanted to put the extra $577 for a second hotel room, we would gladly accept it. However, we would still be doing it…

Amanda can’t get pregnant, so I don’t know what they’re so worried about!

One of my girlfriend's housemates got a visit from the repo man today, and he no longer has a truck; I have no idea what he owed on the truck or what his payments were, but it was a silver 2011 Chevy Silverado 1500 crew cab with the mid-level LT trim and the Z71 off-road package. It had over 100K miles on it, but I don't know the exact mileage. Amanda's housemate bought the truck used years ago, and in October 2023, I asked him if the truck was paid for and he said he owed like eight grand on it; I have no idea how many payments he missed.

The truck is mechanically sound. It runs and drives fine, the A/C works, etc...

The truck just passed an emissions test, but it failed the safety inspection due to severe rust. The frame is apparently fine, but the body is severely rusted, especially on the cab and quarter panels. The running boards were practically falling off, and he lost one of the exhaust pipes recently. The truck has aftermarket dual exhaust, and I have feeling the muffler is gone too, because the truck sounded like a straight-piped Chevelle SS when idling.

According to KBB, the truck is worth anywhere from $10,000-$13,000 in good to excellent condition; I have no idea if the bank is going to charge penalties for the atrocious condition of the truck, because as stated above it is practically falling apart and won't pass state inspection. It would probably take a couple grand just to get the truck to the point where it would pass inspection!

I am not a fan of EVs for numerous reasons, but this Rivian was pretty cool! There is now an "electric" class at the Carlisle Truck Nationals, and this Rivian from New York was the only entry; I personally like the looks of the Rivian better than the Tesla Cybertruck, but I still don't like EVs that much and a hybrid is about as far as I'd be willing to go right now. These were the only three pictures I got off with my Nikon before the camera started acting up the first time...

I want to say it's at least 2 payments behind..that happened to my friend, but that was a large dealer. If it's a smaller place they might be stricter. Plus if it was week/bi-week/monthly payment.

Given that overall condition I wonder if part of him just let it go?
