Hopefully Charlie your body will get used to the hotter climate once u work for a while. Usually you'll get into shape and that will help as well with the weather. Plus a good old sweat is healthy as long as you keep hydrated.

So, Amanda and I went to Five Below yesterday, and coming out I discovered an excellent angle from which to take a picture of my truck. Before I could take the picture, a woman in a roughly 20-year old Jeep Liberty hauled ass into the parking lot and made a sharp left turn into the parking next to my truck. The woman promptly drove directly into the back of a white late model Chevy Silverado parked in the space directly in front of her. The truck had Connecticut plates, was clearly used as a work truck, and was absolutely beaten to shir despite probably being no older than 2019 or 2020. The owner was in the Ace Hardware next to Five Below.

My response to was immediately shout “Jesus Christ!”

An attractive young blonde (20s or 30s) in hospital scrubs got out of the Jeep, started apologizing to everyone around, and asked if the Chevy was mine; I told her that the truck next to her was mine, and commented loudly that this was why I have the hitch-mounted step. The Chevy also had a trailer hitch, and this saved it from any damage, but the back end was already banged up enough that it would’ve been impossible to tell if the Jeep had caused any damage. The Jeep was actually in Great shape and in better condition than the Silverado, despite being older, and from what I could see, there was no damage to the front of the Jeep from hitting trailer hitch that I could see. The woman walked into one of the stores, while the owner of the Chevy came out of the hardware store a short time later and drove off;l. Someone walked up to the truck and I believe told the guy that someone had hit his truck, but he didn’t seem to care…

 

Amanda and I signed the “Find a Cure” wall at Thompson Toyota yesterday…

 

I also made a few less-than-healthy impulse buys at Five Below…

 

Earlier this year, I found a working 32” flat panel TV for Amanda while rummaging for scrap in peoples’ trash. One of her neighbors was giving away this 2008 Panasonic 50-inch plasma TV, and it sat outside for days (luckily, no rain); Amanda said she wanted it, and the deal was if it worked we would put it in her room, and if it did not work I would rip out the valuable guts for my next scrap run. We plugged it into the outdoor outlet at her landlady’s house while it was still in the bed of the truck, so we wouldn’t have to lug it all the way up to Amanda’s room. It works! It has been a struggle to find a stand or wall mount for it, though…

 

Order online, I found that out when I bought my TV 4 yrs ago that they either don't have a stand included or it's a total POS. I think I found one on Walmart or Amazon for about $40

Not usually, plus I use the Ultragauge to watch the MPGs
