I just realized that my post tied in nicely with yours. Completely by chance. I wasn't even thinking about it

So, when insurance companies can't find who hit their client's vehicle, they just look for the first stooge dumb enough to take the bait?

A while back I cussed out an employee of BJ's Tire Center when he gave me shit for taking pictures of my Tacoma up on the lift with its wheels removes. The prick continually maintains to both my parents and his boss that I attempted to go into the garage to take pictures. This isn't true. I took the picture from the designated customer waiting area.

Today, I went back and attempted very politely to get my money back for the nearly $200 in damage that resulted from the guy removing my tire improperly.

The manager, a guy named Tyrone, was very polite and went out of his way to help. Unfortunately, the guy who originally put my tires on was there too, and this is where he lied to his boss.

I explained to Tyrone what really happened, and Tyrone was awesome. Unfortunately, the jerk who put my tires on see me as nothing but "a daddy's boy with a condition who's parents had to apologize for him." I remained civil and ultimately left. It's not like he did thousands of dollars in damage to my truck and then lied about it, like a certain elderly alcoholic Mercedes owner from Florida...

He even tried to blame the Toyota dealer, and I realized I was never going to win.

I would, however, like to thank the BJ's tire guy for one thing...

You actually made me see the light! I have my flaws, but while I love my parents, I hate it when they literally fight my battles for me. All my life, my parents have been fighting my battles. Since 2012, my boss has been sticking up for me. I really appreciate it, but I've got to work harder at doing things for myself!

On top of that, there have been times when I legitimately tried to do things for myself, but I was forced to call in my parents because it was too much to handle. A perfect example would be the time I collided with the woman in the Lexus and she tried to get almost $2,000 out of me...

Mine too, I learned to opt out of tickets and wrecks a long time ago.
What scares me is having unbelievers who don't see a 30 year record of success as proof it works riding with me.

Well, after I got hit by a drunk driver who lied despite getting a DUI, I figured it would be worth it to keep full coverage on the truck for a bit. Pretty sure I could still get $10,000-$12,000 from insurance if it got totaled. I have confidence in my own driving skills, but I want to protect myself against the scumbags out there...

Also, I don't know if I mentioned my dad was in the Navy for 25 years and has had USAA since 1983. As his son, I was able to get my own policy and I only pay $110 a month for full coverage on my Taco!

It's in the fine print in those conditions they send you every now and then.
