Every time I go to the scrap yard I get something in my tire.

 

There doesn’t appear to be anything in it now; my mechanic thinks whatever it was came out, but they’re closed on Labor Day so I’m having the spare put on…

 

The tire has a split in it…

 

My tires have just over 30K on them, so I’m gonna replace the one that’s cracked, and then get four new tires next spring. The replacement tire that I get next week will be put on the spare so they’re all the same size…

 

Bro that may be the demise of that tire.

 

I know it's not fixable. My mechanic is going to order a new one, and it may be covered under warranty; I wasn't able to find the problem until the AAA guy took it off and put the spare on...

It’s not really a gash; the tire seems to have worn out and dryrotted. I just had the tires rotated, so that tire was previous on the back, and I’m a bit of a leadfoot…

 

I’m thinking that I want to go with “spare” wheels all around!

 

It's your truck. Do as you please.
But I don't think you would have posted about it if you didn't want our opinion.

My opinion is, they are ugly.
I'd keep what you have and save the money.

 

Either way, that tire shouldn't have rotted like that in under 3 yrs..no way. I'd be thinking about a different brand next go round. Mine are getting a little rot but they're 6 yrs old..Yokohamas as well, Avid Ascent.

 

I was thinking the same thing, would switch to a different brand too as that shouldn't happen in such a short period of time!

 

I think I'd bitch first and try to get some help towards a new set. That's not normal at all.
