Here is the response from Toyota corporate in regards to my frustration over Toyota not covering additional parts needed as part of frame replacement.

We apologize for the condition that you have experienced with your 2005 Tacoma TRD Sport.
We have confirmed that your concerns were reviewed appropriately with a Toyota representative and you were provided with Toyota's position on 01/12/2018.
While we understand this is not the response you were hoping for, it does represent Toyota’s final position.

The dealer took over $1000 off Msrp for the parts related to frame replacement in in the end the frame portion of the parts was $2200. Overall the truck got a lot of new parts and at least it won’t break in half.

Please read and give me your written opinion about this after reading.

I'd consider myself a law-abiding citizen. I've never been arrested and my record is completely clean.

I have a problem with authority though, and I don't know why. I think a lot of it has to do with what I see as unfair and overzealous treatment by faculty and staff in 4th grade all the way through my senior year of high school.

That said, I don't disrespect authority. I have nothing but respect for law enforcement.

It used to be that I only questioned authority when it directly affected me. Now, I question authority when it comes to other people as well.

A perfect example would be numerous friends of mine who got their driver's licenses suspended for underage drinking/minor in possession, when they were nowhere near a motor vehicle, much less driving one! And don't tell me it's a deterrent, because the threat of losing one's driving privileges does not seem to be stopping people from drinking before they turn 21!

Part of me believes that simply bowing down (or bending over, depending on how you look at it) is a sign of weakness, and that if we don't question rules and regulations we deem unfair, then the government will get another step closer to completely ruling our lives!

What do you all think of this?

I think you need to accept the fact that most laws are in place to help and/or protect people from the utter stupidly of themselves and others. We have to live in a world where we legislate and regulate to the lowest common denominator to keep the rest of us alive and well.

Man one thing I know is I don't go looking for trouble. That doesn't always mean it won't find you.

I've never had an issue with law enforcement or authority and my record is not exactly squeaky clean.

I live my life and try to get the most out of every day.

Unless it directly affects you I would just keep my nose away from it. You go sticking it out there it will get shit on it. Just obey the laws and respect when you need to respect and move along.

I've never bad what I would consider "trouble" with law enforcement. I still get really fired up about that photography incident almost 5 years ago, but I'd say my record is pretty much clean...

I am not a conspiracy theorist, but I think law enforcement at all levels, and the government as a whole, are being given too much power.

Without tight enforcement you would have an unrealistic and unmanagable society

Co-owner of my bar is a lawyer. The Maserati belongs to a partner at his law firm and she gave me permission to include the car in the Tundy shot.

Tight enforcement is one thing, but a lot of the laws I loathe seem to be in place for the purpose of...

    A. Generating revenue
    B. Exercising power over society
    C. All of the above

    Answer to that...?

Just don't run the red light and stop when it turns yellow...

    Better safe than sorry!

As long as there's no points on your driver's license, I'd just pay the ticket...

There's also this photo blocker spray that you spray over a clear license plate cover, and the flash on most red light cameras will render the plate unreadable...

As for the legality, the company's website says "there's no law on the books in any state that says your license plate has to be photogenic."

Oh good I guess Ill be the black sheep.
Growing up I was a criminal so to speak (based on the what the Canadian gov thought)(this will change this year)
Now let me clear this up. Not once did I ever do anything to harm another person.
I did have problems with law enforcment. I respected the officers that showed respect and were professional, infact it made it easier the next time we met.
I hated authority......because I technically was on the wrong side.
Anyhow fast forward to today. I have grown the fuck up and learned a few things.
I have the utmost respect for any officer I see. I show respect before it is given. Only reason why is because these men and women have a terrible job (imo). They have to deal with the scum that threatens or whos actions threaten mine and my family's well being. These guys go out every single day to ensure society is not a war zone. One of my best friends is an officer of the law, soon to be RCMP if everything works out.

I too dealt with issues in school growing up. Having teachers making me out to be bad guy when their techniques were not right for me. When I had a good teacher my grades soared. This caused me to have ill views toward authority.

    Funny story time:
Not too long ago I was driving the Taco and pulled up beside a marked cruiser at a light. Light went green, he gunned it and so did I. He looked over at me (now doing 80kph in a 60) kinda looks down at the gauges looks back over at me (probably close to 90 now) I smiled and gave him a nod and started to slow. He nods back and starts slowing down too. That was it, went our separate ways. Fun little story.
As with any category of person in this world, there be dicks and assholes.
