Is yours weather proof? I would say mount it on the area nearest top right corner of windshield on the roof or centered middle rear roof.

In the picture below, it thought the truck was at work, but right after I took the picture, the GPS "found itself."

I’m betting it would make a little difference if on the roof, less obstruction for satellite view

CLICK HERE for unknown year 1998-2000 AC 5-lug (incorrectly listed as an '03)...

The green one definitely appears to be located in Japan, as it as has Japanese license plates and appears to have a lot of Japanese custom touches (like a JDM head unit).

The white one does not appear to be in Japan (at least not in the photos), as it appears to have Minnesota plates, and the pictures have been taken in a parking lot full of U.S.-spec vehicles (including numerous older Chevy and GMC trucks and what appears to be a 2004-2007ish Nissan Maxima).

My guess is that both of these trucks were brought into the country by Army or Navy guys serving tours of duty in Japan...

Just like the two first gen Tacos I found on the same site, I believe this truck was more than likely brought into the country by someone in the U.S. Military. Quite why they left it there, I do not know, but it appears to be in decent shape.

    August 9th, 2017:

I've mentioned a bizarre experience I had at this particular crosswalk before in this thread. Unfortunately it was before I had a dashcam...

Important fact: That building to my right with the Honda Element parked outside is a bar!

It is legal to turn right on red here. I had a red light, and after checking that the crosswalk was clear (which it was), I pulled forward. I took my foot ever so slightly off the brake pedal (but not all the way), and started to go forward. I was looking out the left window to make sure there was no one coming, and all of a sudden I hear someone knocking on my passenger window. I look to my right, and there is this short middle-aged Mexican guy so close to my truck his nose was almost touching the glass. I briefly freak out and think I hit him, but he proceeds to walk around the back of my truck and cross the street. Dumbfounded, I open my door and ask "Dude, why'd you hit my truck?" He drunkenly sputters "You pushed me!" in broken English, and staggers off. I drove back to work without incident.

    My theory is this...

At some point while I was looking to my left to see if the road was clear, this drunk guy came out of the door (circled in red), saw my truck approaching the crosswalk, and decided to make a run for it in an attempt to beat me to the crosswalk and assert his right of way. Don't you just love drunken logic?

Well, even an idling Tacoma is faster than a fat drunk dude, and my belief is that this guy made it to the edge of the curb just as my passenger door was perfectly aligned with crosswalk and pretty much stumbled into my truck (his approximate location is marked with a red arrow).

I had another interesting encounter here...

One of the cooks and I went grocery shopping, and there was a white Ford Escape at the stop sign where that Civic is (circled in red)...20170809_1124_IMG.jpg

I've marked my approximate location when I started to cross with a red "X." My coworker was close by but not close to getting hit by the Escape. All of a sudden, the white Escape floors it from a dead stop, whizzing past just inches from my stock. I throw up my arms and give the driver a classic "WTF?" look. The driver get a full view of me, and after he passes, he rolls down his window and asks if there's a problem. Absolutely aghast, I say "Stop sign!" and think that is the end of it...

He proceeds to respond by saying "Crosswalk..."

I just blew him off and walked into the grocery store...

I believe the twat was texting or fooling around with his radio, and folks, this is your garden variety Doylestown Douchebag...

They know they're wrong, but they try to shift blame and make you seem like the asshole...

    I have a friend who've seen a green 98-00 in thailand.

Anyway, here, I often see old tacomas or pickups/hiluxes being labeled and sold for exportation. I can also confirm that I had guys ask if mine was for sale because they wanted to ship it overseas. Maybe that's why they ended up there?

Also, as much as enthusiasts here import JDM cars, as much enthusiasts in asia import american cars

It says 2011, but the tail lights and headlights are from pre 2009. 2009 they started with the led tail lights and 2011 they started with the black chrome headlights. Grill was different also for 2011.
