I have a 2010, and I always thought the 2011 headlights and grille looked different that mine...

 

I’m sure they were changed out.

 

I'm more curious about it ended up in Japan, and how hard it would be to get it back stateside and convert the Japanese title to one from any of the fifty US states...

 

I bought it from the dealer with 30 miles on it. 10 being from my test drive. In feb 2012.

 

The 11 grille is the honeycomb oem

 

U has Base model according to ur info.

The sports had the smoked lights

But then again, im not sure about the 12 and up. I didnt follow those much

 

Just realized yours is a base. Led tail lights were an upgrade for the TRD at the time.

 

That Tacoma also doesn’t have an auto lsd button. Which, I believe would make it 05-08. Probably a mechanical LSD in the rear diff. It has the inverter button for the bed outlet, which should indicate it’s a TRD. No bed stickers, but has hood scoop and no rear locker button. TRD Sport

 

Did 5-lug RC Tacomas have a mechanical LSD prior to 2009?

Pretty sure mechanical LSD was only offered on the TRD tacoma.

 

So all the rest were doing the one-tire fire?

 

I heard u could get em on the base model as an option
