These pictures are all from that day when I had to make two separate trips to Bethlehem and back!

On Route 611 in Warrington, on my way into work that day, I saw this PT Cruiser that someone was in the process of customizing...

As you can see, they are trying to make their own version of the Panel Cruiser concept, and the all the car appears to need at this point is paint!

I briefly though that was a drunk that had crossed the double yellow, but it turns out it was a cop car parked at Stephanie's. Note that there are three police vehicles there. This is a common occurrence at Stephanie's on busy nights

One thing I really hate is when people who don't know me at all, as in perfect strangers, fuck with me for the sole purpose of fucking with me! This happened about 2 or 3 years ago...

It was sometime in the late spring or early summer of 2015 or 2016, I was Route 1, driving to a cruise night in Morrisville...

I live Central Bucks, and Morrisville is located in Lower Bucks, about forty minutes from my house. Route 1 well know for being a shitty stretch of road, and it is especially difficult to merge if you don't know exactly what you're doing...

I was in left lane, doing 55-60 MPH or so. At some point I ended up behind this beat-up green early 2000s Dodge Dakota crew cab 4x4. The truck was an absolute shitbox, with dents and rust, factory alloys rims sprayed rattle-can black, and a left front fender that was a dull gray color. I later found out, rather surprisingly, that the driver and passenger were couple of 20-something guys. They were your typical "white trash" types.

I would like to point out that I did absolutely nothing to piss these guys off. I just had the misfortune of ending up behind them, and they'd either had a bad day at work or they didn't want a guy in a late-model "import" who appeared to be richer than them getting in front of them, or both. I kid you not, these pricks looked like they were heading home from a hard day of work at the meth lab...

So, the Dodge Dakota starts to slow and I think absolutely nothing of it. Keep in mind that we are both in the left lane, and I thinking that there's either traffic in front of the Dodge, or the driver isn't paying attention. Happens all the time...

Finally sick of being stuck behind the Dodge, I signaled and got into the right lane (I know you're not supposed to pass on the right, but I consider it an extenuating circumstance). I then floored it, and the two dickheads in the Dodge sped up. They had four more cylinders than me and were able to keep ahead, and there was someone in the right lane going slow, so I was forced to get behind the once again. The guys in the Dodge then proceeds to slow down, and I wait for an opening in the right lane and attempt to pass these pricks. They speed up again, and again I am forced to get in behind them once more when the traffic gets heavier. They slow down yet again, and I realize they are fucking with me. I attempt to pass them a third time and they pull the same shit. At this point I am both pissed and dumbfounded.

Finally, I've had enough. I see clear path in front of a tractor-trailer, and as soon as I clear the big rig, I get in the right lane and gun it. At this point, the passenger in the Dodge leans out the window and flips me off as I pass. I was just going to ignore them, but that was the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back. I'd done NOTHING to these pricks. I angrily cut them off, stuck up my middle finger, and pressed my right hand to the rear slider so I was sure they could see it. I gave them the one-finger salute for about a quarter of a mile, and then I realized I may have fucked up. For well over a mile, I was convinced they were following me after I flipped them off...

My Tacoma was lighter, newer, more nimble, and in much better shape, so I used this to my advantage. Sure, they had eight cylinders, but their truck looked like it was fall apart if they hit a speed bump going fast enough. I buried the accelerator and put some serious distance between me and those pricks. At one point, I looked down at the speedometer and realized I was doing a hundred miles an hour! At the time, I was shocked my 4-banger slushbox Tacoma could go that fast without shaking and rattling. I slowed down just in time to see the guys in the Dodge turn right onto an exit ramp and disappear...

My parents weren't too happy when they found out I'd been going so fast, but they more or less understood why...

Why do you think those guys were fucking with me for seemingly no reason? This was not road rage. I honestly thing they saw a guy dressed better than them and driving a nicer truck than theirs which happened to be an import, and that pissed them off...

 

People can just be dicks sometimes. Just be careful about letting your anger get the best of you. Never know when you may encounter someone who's truly crazy and/or dangerous.

What if you had been stopped by the police going 100 mph? There goes your insurance rates or worse...maybe your license.

What if you had wrecked going 100 mph? Would you still be here? What if someone else was injured or killed? Your life would be forever altered.

Non engagement if usually your best bet. That was hard for me in my 20s as well.
