It's got a cop motor, a 440-cubic-inch plant. It's got cop tires, cop suspension, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas.
    short answer :YESA

Used cruise in the mountains of NC. Got better mpg then I do in FL.

Cruise keeps your truck at a constant speed so you're not wasting fuel by varying speeds

I don't know how true this statement is. I've heard the other way around. Does anyone know if there's a road test somewhere that would give us a better answer instead of relying on personal opinions?

Holly crap you need a new tranny asap. You shift solenoids are going to take out your clutch packs and destroy your input shaft and mess up your out put seal. You should sell your truck for 1/3 of what it's worth so you don't take a even bigger hit when your messed up tranny takes out your engine. Then you would just a a really fancy garden planter for your front yard. Sell it quick

If you pay attention while driving you'll get better mpg using your foot. Accelerate downhill and let truck die back on long grades. Cruise will downshift to hold speed going downhill and floor it going up hills to maintain set speed. This isn't the best for fuel economy. To prove my point, to the extreme, is hypermilers. They get extreme mpg out of vehicles and I can gaurentee you they do not use cruise control.

All this being said, I still use cruise as I travel 3+ hours a day for work and don't want a sore foot by the end of the week.

To the OP, only you can decide to install it or not. It's a nice additions and considering 95% of vehicles have it give you an idea on how popular an accessory it is. Also consider it will make the truck easier to resale.

My grandmother's tougher and quicker than you pansies. Of course, she's 6'3", 250, and runs a 4.5 40.

    No worries at all.
It's the parking pawl trying to find it's home.
You could do it 50 times before any wear will show up.

I installed it in my '06 and love it. Just makes it easier on the foot. And as it's mostly flatland driving my MPG goes up.

NEVER put it in Park unless one foot is firmly on the brake petal.
Better still, never put it in Park until you've set the parking brake.
Option - get a manual transmission.

Wow that was hard to read. For those who don't want the op's life story or didn't read half way down to get to the actual question...

OP has a 2010 Regular Cab with airbags on his bench seat.
Looking to get bucket seats from a 2009+ (also has airbags). Can he connect his factory wiring to the new seats to keep the airbags.

After doing a quick google i found this thread
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/regular-cab-bucket-seats.18378/page-1

    This is what I think.
    • Pick up a center console from a 2005-2008 Regular Cab SR5

    Then you have two options,
    1. Run non airbag seats from a 05-08,
    2. Take the hardware from an 05-08 & buy 09+ seats and swap hardware so you can bolt in the new seats without modification. You will still need to check if the airbag connections are the same though if you do this.

Not always plug and play. My 11 base auto needed a wire run from steering wheel to the computer.
Some trucks are plug and play, some need a little more work. If you were pre wired for camera I bet you are plug and play for cruise.
