Nope, don’t own any trailers and my horse that passed away three years ago lived out in Colorado.

I lost my Labrador, Molly, almost 9 years ago. The Tacoma came into my life less than three months before she died...

In 2014, I almost joined Doylestown Fire Company, but I was still in college at the time. One of my long-distance TW buddies (@Iamraiderpower ) is also a firefighter and thinks I should pursue it again. Becoming a volunteer firefighter is something I've thought about a lot lately.

How old is the oldest person you've seen become a firefighter?

Some people I know join up with the volunteer departments before they're even old enough to drive!

 

Seen a 45 year old fella become a career firefighter in a small department that’s non civil service regulations

 

And I'm only 28...

Though I'm gonna lie...

About 7 years ago I took a "responding to emergencies" class in college. I got a B in the actual class but was unable to complete the CPR training. I forgot one of the steps or something...

Fire departments in my area are so desperate for volunteers that they pay for training! I'd be afraid of fucking up on CPR training, though...

 

My dad strongly considered becoming a Pennsylvania State Trooper when he retired from the Navy...

Problem is he was 47 when he retired and the age limit to become a trooper was like 40 or 45...

When you say "non civil service regulations," does that mean no age limit?

 

I can't sleep and I'm reading an article in TIME magazine about heroin addiction right now...

Yeah, that's what my friend Dave drives. It's the second one he's owned. The 2001 was totaled by a drunk driver in 2012, and now he has a 2005.

We don’t actually pay for the training. None of the departments in Bucks county pay for any training through the fire school.
