    No biggie there, my Taco always passes the sniffer at emissions somehow. Could get a new cat soon though for higher flow

    Does yours have a cat on it?

    My truck is completely stock under the hood and still has all emissions-control equipment...

    A 1980s Rolls-Royce gets about 9-12 MPG, by the way...

    Cat or no cat!

    It is 100% diy fuel mapping, ignition control, and air monitoring. You can literally make the fuel mapping as rich or lean under any circumstances that you like (wise not to go too lean). Tough for a beginner to tune but you can learn I'm sure

    @Speedytech7

    Your LC still has R-12 A/C, right?

    Does the A/C in the '96 Taco work good? Since you live in Arizona, I'm gonna go with yes...?

    Yup still got the factory 23 year old cat. It is dead though, sometimes the CEL comes on for it. But sometimes it doesn't and that's when it goes for emissions haha. I'll replace it when the turbo comes in.

    It is patchwork because it is all the wiring, drivetrain components, and HVAC ducting and associated parts from my 95 that I rolled last year on the trail. I rebuilt a 96 that II bought running and driving locally for $2k with it's parts. So now it is two trucks.

    Unfortunately that is the type of setting you would be doing cpr in. Family members and neighbors watching you. Rushed, controlled chaos.

    Yeah the cruiser is R-12. The Taco needs a recharge and possibly a new evaporator core. I haven't bothered dealing with it since I rebuilt the truck, I drive the LC enough that it hasn't bothered me yet.

    It was an auto 4cyl haha, painfully slow and poorly maintained. Still ran and drove so I sold its drivetrain and put mine in. Swapping all the wiring was the worst.

    Mine is the 1FZ-FE, far superior power wise to the 3FE. But both have terrible fuel economy, I get 11 on a good day 13 on the highway going 80.

    Yup it's a stick now. I wouldn't mind swapping your engine into my truck one day, you have the same block as me just with a VVTI head. Easy to integrate with a MicroSquirt.
