I actually went off the road in a relatively minor snowstorm two years ago...

They were unprepared and didn't treat the roads. I was somehow able to swerve and avoid a telephone pole, and make it back up the hill to go the other way...

That black BMW 3-series wagon on the left had California plates...

I don't know what's more surprising...

A California resident visiting Pennsylvania this time of year, or a X-drive (AWD) BMW that seemingly came from California (my cousin lives in NorCal and had a RWD Mercedes SUV)!

Despite seemingly having a G80 locker (which isn't fool-proof but gives you advantage over RWD vehicles with an open rear), that Chevy Express up there just could not get clear of the snow...

I stopped to let him in, and he just couldn't get going...

I pulled over, got out of my truck, and helped by pushing the van out of the snow with my bare hands!

 

I guess what I’m saying, relative to snow and salt and ice, is that a nicer old truck stays a lot nicer when not exposed to harsh elements like snow and salt and ice.

 

You think yours and Pat's trucks will survive a couple decades of harsh winters in the Philly burbs?

First time I've taken photos with the rear dashcam (kinda hard since I can't see it and had to reach behind the headrest to take the pictures)!

The owner of this black 2nd Gen DCLB Limited got out of his truck to clear snow from it while the light was red...
