That’s what I was thinking too.

 

It was almost two years ago, and I am NOT a lawyer so I don't know. I got $500 in restitution, which I used to buy a stereo system and backup camera, so I'm not complaining.

 

I asked if it was and was told it wasn't. The court okayed it...

I don't think it is because my lawyer friend had no way of knowing it was the same guy...

If anything, the scumbag who hit me is at fault in all of this because it was his lying that started it in the first place. If he'd just taken responsibility and either given me his insurance info or cut me a check for $2,600 (which I know he had since he hired such a good laywer), I never would have even known he was that drunk in the first place...

Seriously, we could have handled this without going through insurance, and my Tacoma could have been repaired entirely with OEM parts (I have an "aftermarket" rear bumper now because my insurance company cuts costs by using non-OEM parts on vehicles older than two years)! I am probably the least-litigious person you will ever meet, meaning I am not one of those "Ow! My neck!" or "Ow! My back!" types. I just wanted my fucking truck fixed and that was it! This career alcoholic couldn't even give me that...

Keep in mind that this all started because the prosecutor asked me what I did for a living during our phone conversation, just as a matter of course. Like me, he thought this old man was a scumbag who obviously hadn't learned his lesson, and he wanted all the evidence he could. When I told him that I worked as a barback and gave him the name of the specific bar, he seemed more worried about an awkward situation being created between my employer (the lawyer) and me. The prosecutor said absolutely nothing about there being a conflict of interest, and neither did the lawyer who owns the bar where I work. The guy who hit me had to pay a substantial fine, and the I got a cut a of this in the form of a check from the county.

Therefore, everything is out of my hands. I was not hurt, my truck was fixed, and now I've got a nice sound system upgrade at the expense of Sir Drinks-A-Lot...

 

Overdone cosmetic surgery?

 

I naturally have a bit of a fat ass, and this suits me quite well. My dad, by comparison, has a thin ass. When he sits at any of the swivel chairs at our kitchen island, he puts a pillow down as a cushion. He does the same thing whenever he drives my Tacoma for long periods of times!

I don't have to put a cushion down, even on my base RC's aging bench seat!

 

Next time I need new tires, I might do something like this to my truck!

 

You are OK. The situation should have been settled between the prosecutor, lawyer/bar owner and judge.

When we bought the Tacoma back in September 2009, I remember only three new 2010s being on the lot...

They had my Silver Streak Mica RC and a Barcelona Red AC SR5 2WD automatic 5-lug on the lot, and a Super White AC TRD automatic 4x4 in the showroom...

They never learn you see it everywhere someone with multiple DUI convictions getting caught again and again.
Maybe an execution or two might make them think.

My area guy with priors kills someone. Gets three years while on bail gets caught again. Three years for a fatal hit and run???
Should have been shot on the side of the road.
