You ever seen the Avengers movie where Nick Fury is running from the bad guys in his armored Tahoe. He tries to activate the automatic propulsion system, but the computer tells him it is broken. In fact, everything is broken. Fury then demands to know "Well, what isn't broke, dammit?!?!"

The AI voice says "The air-conditioner is still fully operational..."

Seriously, this Tahoe is all shot up by machines guns, has significant body damage, and the driver's airbag has deployed, but the A/C still works!

Remember I posted pictures of the old church that was converted into a house, and it had a Cummins generator?

Two days ago, I was chatting with some of the construction workers (specifically the guy who installed the generator), and I was shocked when he told me that this Cummins generator is natural gas-powered! I'm sure it has that same Cummins quality, but Cummins is known for diesel engines and generators! I didn't even know they made gas (as in gasoline, natural gas, or otherwise) products! It is a 20kw whole-house generator though, which is pretty damn powerful!

 

Yea it’s pretty amazing what they can do with a Cummins. It truly is the best diesel ever made.

 

What do you think of the gas generator then?

 

I think it’s a great idea as long as it’s pipped into an unlimited supply and not just a holding tank

 

The church house has public natural gas!

 

From 2005 until 2016, my parents always had Comcast cable. Verizon FIOS came along less than a decade later, and my parents decided to get it instead of Comcast when we moved into the new house just to try it out.

There are two things I dislike about FIOS...

The first thing is that they dropped The Weather Channel, and that was years before we moved into this house!

The second thing is shown in the picture below...



If I have the TV on for a certain period of time and don't use the cable box remote, this happens...

Sometimes I misplace the remote, and a mad rush to find it before the cable box shuts off ensues!

 

It's not off the grid. It's right in the center of Doylestown Borough! The central heat, water heater, kitchen stove, and possibly the clothes dryer, are all fueled by natural gas. The gas and electricity are both publicly provided, so the generator is hooked into public natural gas which will not stop flowing if the power goes out...
