Having a lot of trouble navigating that vendor's page...

 

Now would be a great time to do what I said couple weeks ago for your folks

 

It weighs about 30 pounds and is nicely built. But it will not protect you or the truck in an accident.

It looks cool (opinion), keeps shopping carts away from the front and can be a place to mount lights.

 

Exactly! It's not like my truck is all beat up...

 

Their 30th wedding anniversary is coming up next month. I'd like to tie it into that!

I don't know. I'm telling you all my dad gives a shit about is me cleaning my room and not getting into photography-related confrontations with people...

I have never subscribed to “damage multiplier” ideas.

If you are in a front end collision, that bumper guard isn’t doing any more damage than whatever you just ran into did.

As far as repair costs go, that’s what insurance is for.

 

I love the way it looks, but I also want something that will reduce damage to my truck in the event of an accident.

 

Not going to happen with any bolt-on bar/brush guard

 

Oh, and aside from snapping pictures of my Taco with other peoples' Tacos in parking lots, I've largely been staying away from taking pictures. At least my truck is there so I have something of an excuse, but nothing's happened yet!

 

Nothing will reduce damage except frame mounted, appropriately built steel.

 

Remember to add to this, then you’re transferring energy to the frame, so.. you may incur additional damage to that component that may not have otherwise occurred.

 

That's why I don't like big oversized grill gaurds. That said...the Avid bar is low. Any damage it causes was going to happen with or without it being there any way
