Yeah, what sucks is that there are no worthwhile car shows or similar events tomorrow, and the bar where I work is closed! I can't go to a car show or make money!

Middle school is generally a living hell for all kids, but when you're the new kid and you have Aspergers, quadruple the "living hell" factor...

Gym class was the absolute worst, but in both 6th and 7th grade, I had some pretty awesome gym teachers who not only liked me but did not take kindly to any form of bullying in their class. This was in Oak Harbor, Washington. We lived there from July 2000 until July 2002, when my dad was stationed at NAS Whidbey Island. I attended 6th and 7th grade at Oak Harbor Middle School.

In 6th grade, my gym teacher was a guy in his early 40s by the name of Brian Farmer (Mr. Farmer to me, obviously). He had a son in the military, and when my dad met him the two of them immediately hit it off. He took a new job as a gym teacher and wrestling coach at Oak Harbor High School (same district, but presumably higher pay) sometime in 2001, and he was replaced with another middle aged guy named Mr. Rice (I forget Mr. Rice's first name). Some gym teachers were assholes, but not once did I ever encounter a gym teacher who berated me for my lack of athletic prowess. In my opinion, a teacher can be an asshole and still have your back. I'd say my 8th grade gym teacher was one of the biggest dicks I ever encountered. I completed 6th and 7th grade in Washington, but in the summer of 2002 we moved back to Virginia (this time in the DC suburbs) where I spent three years in the Fairfax County Public School District (8th grade, 9th grade, and 10th grade).

I forget what year this happened in (I think it was towards the latter half of 6th grade, so April-June 2001), but here is one instance where Mr. Farmer really had my back...

There was this kid named Chris (who shares a last name with a certain fictional family from Rhode Island, and who shares a first name with the middle child of that same family) who was also in 6th grade and who was unfortunately in most of my classes. I would later find out that even some of the kids who picked on me were secretly jealous of me, but Chris was known for being obnoxious. He was so unpopular that whenever I complained about him to other classmates, even kids who picked on me or were at best fair weather friends would take my side.

One time in the locker room before gym class, I noticed that Chris's bag had fallen off of the bench he had left it on and spilled all over the floor. Being the nice guy that I am, I picked up the bag, put its contents back, and set it back on the bench. A minute or two later, my good deed was out of my mind.

Fast-forward to the end of gym class...

Gym happened to be my last class of the day, so I was thinking of nothing but getting home and plopping down in front of the TV with a bag of chips in one hand and a PlayStation controller in the other. Imagine my absolute shock when I opened my locker and discovered that my clothes were missing. I had left my backpack, which was too big for the locker, either on the ground or on one of the benches. Kids teased me, but fucking with a fellow student's stuff for any reason was unheard of. I immediately flipped out and some of the other kids started laughing and being dicks. I can't say I blame them, because they were all innocent. After a few minutes, I was finally forced to involve Mr. Farmer and told him what had happened. Kids may not have taken me seriously, but Mr. Farmer was well-respected and everybody stopped what they were doing when he bellowed at them to listen up. Mr. Farmer them threatened to give everyone detention if someone didn't fess up to taking my stuff. Chris had acted perfectly casual during this entire ordeal, but faced with detention, he confessed. He specifically said that another classmate had mentioned to him that he saw "Charlie messing with his stuff" and he decided to get back at me by hiding all of my stuff. To say Chris hid my stuff was an understatement. He hid all of my books in random lockers, so well in fact that he couldn't remember where he hid them all (more on that later). I also believe that he dumped my clothes into either a trash can or a clothes hamper. Once Chris fessed up, the vibe in the locker room was "Charlie: 1, Chris: 0." Everyone thought he was an asshole, and pretty much forgot about my "freak out." Mr. Farmer made Chris retrieve all of my stuff that he'd hidden and apologize to me in front of everybody.

    It gets better...

The next day in English class, my teacher (a woman of 26 who I actually had a crush on) asked me for the book I'd borrowed from the class the previous day, and I didn't have it. Remember how I said Chris hid my stuff so well he couldn't remember exactly where he'd hidden some of it? In an instant, it hit me, and I was able to embarrass Chris a second time!

I casually told my teacher, in front of the whole class, what had happened the previous afternoon in the locker room. Needless to say, Charlie didn't get in trouble for forgetting his homework, and Chris was ordered to immediately go back to the locker room and retrieve the book! Even more amusing is that after Chris set off for the gym locker, my teacher realized that she'd forgotten to give him a hall pass. She said that if he got stopped by another teacher of staff member, it served him right for what he'd done, and the whole class erupted in laughter.

    Charlie: 2, Chris: 0

I put on some pounds during the summer of 2001, and I was a bit bigger when I entered the 7th grade. I got sick of the other guys making comments about my stomach and overall size, and I resorted to changing in the gym locker's sole toilet stall...

Obviously annoyed at losing their bullying target, someone who was much thinner and more nimble than me slipped under the stall door, locked the door from the inside, and slipped back out. This forced me to crawl underneath the door and unlocked it front of everybody, which resulted in even more teasing. Mr. Rice, the new gym teacher, took my side and allowed me to change in the boys' bathroom. It didn't take long for the other boys to get wise to this. One day a couple guys, notable a kid named Phil, followed me into the restroom. Phil pushed past me and tried to steal the sole bathroom stall from me. He said he wanted to change in private too. I was bigger and smarter than Phil, and apparently a lot stronger as well, as I inadvertently found out. I blocked his way, and shoved him out of the stall. Phil ended up on his ass on the bathroom floor, and I slammed the stall and locked it. Phil and his cronies gave up and left. I don't recall having any notable problems with Phil after that...

There was another time where we were playing kickball, or possibly flag football. I am not very "athletically savvy," and my lack of skill ended up costing my "team" the game. Last time I checked it was just a game, but no...

Some random kid just randomly started screaming at me for causing us to lose, and I just blew him off...

But seriously, that's the shit I dealt with in middle school!

I want the backup camera inserted into the rear view mirror. Is about $120 at Best Buy.

Okay, in that case go with an Alpine head unit. I recommend JBL speakers. I paid only $86 for mine!

You could replicate my stereo system, with THIS HEAD UNIT in place of the Pioneer double-DIN head unit and minus the subwoofer, for about $300.
