I saw this Tacoma at the Truck Nationals back in 2012, and I think it might have played a major rule in influencing what I ended up doing to my truck. My truck was still completely stock at the time (the first stereo upgrade was done in April 2013 and the 16" wheels were added in October 2013). Picture taken by my dad, first time I ever went to a Carlisle event!

Does the Tacoma next to the one you're in the photo with belong to a FD?

Dude, it was 6 years ago and I didn't even pay attention to the other Tacoma then...

The license plate looks like it might be from a volunteer fire department, but again, six years ago!

    @ALI3N_123

With regards to what you said the other day, I am glad you plan on becoming a cop. You are level-headed and ethical, and if and when you become a cop, I hope you will be an ambassador for police officers everywhere. That said, I have nothing but respect for the police. I also relatives who are police officers.

That said, I take things on a case-by-case basis and while I understand that police have a job to do, I prefer to lessen my chances of having any kind of encounter with police. Between March 2013 and September 2017, I had a lot of encounters with police that were rather annoying. I've told you about most of them, including getting stopped for taking pictures in public, getting followed into an apartment complex while delivering pizzas because the cop thought I was drunk when in reality I was just driving slow to find the entrance to said apartment complex, getting tailgated for a quarter mile on my way home for the high crime of being out at 11:30pm, and encountering a DUI checkpoint on my way home from work.

One I didn't mention was the time I rear-ended a Mustang in stop-and-go traffic three years ago, and both the woman in the Mustang and the cop tried to get me to admit to texting and driving.

    FUN FACTS:

    1. I don't text and drive EVER!
    2. If I was texting and driving, do you think I'd be stupid enough to admit to it?
    3. I didn't have my phone in the truck at the time, so it was a moot point!

Another time was over Labor Day weekend last year when I got pulled over, and there were some cigars in my glovebox that I'd forgotten about. These became visible when I reached for my paperwork, and the cop asked if they were "just cigars". They were just cigars, but if I really had something other than tobacco in my truck, like with texting and driving, do you think I'd be stupid enough to admit it?

My neighbor who helped install my stereo system and backup camera got pulled over for quite possibly the stupidest reason I've ever heard of...

This was in the late 1990s or early 2000s, and he was still living in New Jersey. He had his map light on while driving for reasons even he can't remember. Cop pulled him over and claimed he was "impersonating a first responder" or some shit like that. My neighbor was polite as could be, and the cop did not write a him a ticket for that bullshit charge, but still wrote him a ticket for illegal window tint.

Upon hearing the story, my dad said it sounded like the cop was bored, LOL...

Many states have laws about driving with interior lights on. Dumb as they may be, they are still laws.

Life guards in California use Tacomas, so does the LAPD that patrol the beach.

Also, you know what's really hitting below the belt?

I was OCD about keeping my truck legal (inspection, registration, etc), so this NEVER worried me. College students are not known for being in the Fortune 500, and they have to make a lot of difficult choices. Often, this includes the choice between eating and/or paying tuition, and keeping their vehicle up to date. I went to school at Bucks County Community College. The local police (Newtown Township) would patrol the parking lot and write tickets to PARKED VEHICLES with expired registration stickers (might have been inspection, I forget). If they get pulled over for speeding or something and their registration is expired, then that is one thing, but to write tickets while the vehicles owners are inside trying to get an education...?

That seems petty at face value, but keeping your vehicle legal is a life lesson. No better place to learn than on campus.

One time, when I was delivering pizzas to make some extra money, I had my truck parked in one of those pay-and-display lots (one of the reasons I quit that pizza place was because it had no private parking). I observed a meter maid touching my legally parked truck and promptly got into an argument with him...

If a business expects to be successful they need to provide parking for both their customers and employees.

    Look up "Why
