What about a small mom and pop AC shop, somewhat nearby?
If you know the problem know, you can buy the parts and bring them with you...

If I get it done at the dealer, I get a 2-year warranty on parts and labor...

Recharging it is just a bandaid...

Plus, adding refrigerant but not oil can really screw up the system. I will NEVER use A/C Pro.

I am OCD and want my system to blow cold every year without needing to be charged.

    @ace96

My dad bought my truck new in September 2009, when I got my learner's permit. He signed it over to me in December 2016, pretty much gifting me the truck. The title is in my name. I can't afford a new vehicle right now, and while I could buy a newer truck, I don't feel like buying a used vehicle.

That said, I've decided to basically restore my truck. It's got only 87K miles, and runs and drives like a dream. Putting a couple grand total into fixing the A/C and few broken interior pieces is wayyy cheaper than buying another truck!

Why not just tackle it yourself. It’s not hard to do. Just time consuming. All you need are some basic tools to do the job and a lot of beer. I did a buddy’s evap core in his 4 runner on the side. With both of us we had it done in about 6 hours. That was with beer and lunch breaks.

When you own a pickup truck, people asking you to help them move or otherwise haul large items is normal. In the last couple of weeks, my boss has paid me quite handsomely for helping her in general (not just by hauling furniture and other stuff from her old house to her new house). My boss's previous roommate (another mutual friend and coworker) is staying in her old house, and she is getting a new roommate. I was finishing up my normal routine at work today when that friend texted me and asked if I could help her new roommate move her mattress. I would end up getting $10 out of it. It was a relatively short drive, so I agreed. I ended up meeting this girl at my workplace, and I was pleasantly surprised. She's 23 (almost 24), quite attractive, and not only has a driver's license and a car, but a college degree and a good job! On top of that, she's on the spectrum! During the drive out to her parents' house, and then back to my boss's old house, we conversed while Kurt Cobain belted "Smells Like Teen Spirit" out of my Taco's stereo system (she told me she liked Nirvana, so I used that song to demonstrate my sound system). She told me how she was in special ed classes when she was younger, among other things...

Needless to say, I think it's safe to say I'm in love! Much like me, she conquered her shortcomings and has become quite successful (even more so than me)! She is not in a committed relationship, and we are friends on Facebook, so I might just have to ask her out on a date!

The last girl I dated was on the spectrum as well, and that relationship lasted barely more than two weeks before she started displaying numerous warning signs, and clues that she wasn't "all there".

Aside from the obvious things like beauty/physical attractiveness, and intelligence, I prefer my women to have at least two of the following three things:

A driver's license (not owning a vehicle is fine; having a license means they can rent a car, or even borrow my Tacoma if need be)...
    A steady job...
Either a college degree, or they're still in college and actively working on obtaining one...

This going to sound a bit harsh, but if somebody does not have at least two of those three things, how in the hell are they getting along and contributing to society? This is one of the numerous reasons I broke it off with the last girl I dated. She didn't drive, didn't have a job, and was deemed "incapable" of taking college classes due to her learning disabilities...

I'm sorry, but not really someone I want to spend the rest of my life with. Factor in some of the other issues she had, and even casual sex isn't worth it!

Mine is also a cash farm. I moved most of the gym weights from our high school, to our middle school. Coach gave me $50 for 2 hour work!

Assuming lots of opinions and challenges that’s a pretty solid “2 out of 3” list, hard to disagree... unless you add in billionaire trust fund. I’d take that if it were available.

    My last girlfriend was "special"...

I have empathy for people like her, but I've found I don't like dating them!

It's fine to set some limits, but sometimes it's fine to bend them slightly if you feel it's necessary.

My wife did not have her driver's license when we started dating.
She did have a steady job.
She does not have a college degree, and neither do I.

We've been married almost 23 years. Once you get married, you learn to compromise(or you will probably not be married for much longer). Sometimes this means compromising things that you thought you would never compromise on.

    P.S. - What's your degree in?

I have an associate's degree in Journalism...

At least your wife got her driver's license. The last girl I dated refused to get her license and was "afraid" to drive...

    Exactly!

Also, the more I got to know her, the more obvious it became that she had mental problems going far beyond Autism Spectrum Disorder...
