Clobbered my left taillight on the wrought iron fence at work today...

    IMG_9921.jpg

Luckily, within minutes of this happening, I called the body shop that fixed my truck after the drunk driver hit me and ordered a new OEM taillight; $187.20 for the part, including tax...

If all goes according to plan, I should have it installed before my big road trip up to Wilkes-Barre this weekend!

Today, I backed into the wrought iron fence at the bar where I work and cracked my left taillight. I ordered a new OEM unit from the body shop that fixed my truck after a drunk driver hit me, at a cost of $187.20 including tax. It should arrive tomorrow and I will be doing the install myself.

Removal of the taillight assembly is pretty straightforward, but I was wondering if anybody knew how much is just transferred to the new assembly (bulbs, etc)...

Some housings come with bulbs/sockets already installed.

You'll see what needs to be swapped over when you look at the new housing

For that price you could've gotten the darker OEM-like ones that @Sig45 bought. Would've looked better than the chrome looking stock ones, IMHO.

This is probably the best looking color for Toyota 4Runners. Congrats to your wife for her new whip.

Did almost the exact same thing about a year ago backing too close to a mailbox. :( If you ordered an OEM Toyota part, it has all bulbs installed and is ready to go.

You literally undo 2 screws, pull entire taillight assembly out firmly, press wiring harness clip, unplug it, plug in new one, push in new assembly, put both screws back in. Check lights to make sure they all work.

Is this color similar to Blue Ribbon from the 2nd gens?
