My dad did because I didn't have the money at the time. My truck was making this squeaking noise that driving me bonkers. It had just passed state inspection the previous October and I brought it to the dealer in March 2018 to address the noise. Later that day, I get a call that my front left rotor is completely seized and the pad has evaporated, and the the right front brake is at 25% life. This was from 50% in October 2017.

Could I do a brake job? Yes.

However, I don't have a lift or anything to have both front wheels off at once. Also, you don't think $184 is bad for replacing both rear brakes (shoes, linings, labor), do you?

I think that’s actually pretty good for the rear, I just felt bad for how much you spent on the front brakes.

It cost almost $1600 to get the A/C leak fixed!

New tools and found time are always cheaper than the stealerships. I completely understand if experience and patience are an issue but whenever I heard someone tell me how much they "paid to have work" done I am wondering which crevice the money is packed into. Certainly not anywhere on the vehicle.
Those red light traffic incidents are getting painfully common. I look both directions even when the light is green in both my vehicles now and proceed with caution. However, this is not always possible. Good luck keeping the shiny side up.

That’s probably one of the least desirable trucks, I’m in The same boat though.... I paid $32,000 for my 2016 SR5 3 years ago, it books at around $19,000 now. :ballchain:

I'm late to the party but couldn't resist adding my 2 cents (as a guy who managed an A dealership) for years.

    1. Vehicles are only worth what people are paying today...not yesterday.
    2. There is NO sentimental $$ value to others for your vehicle
    3. All the mechanical work you have done recently other than maybe tires bring little to no added value. Keep in mind if you brought in a vehicle for trade that needed brakes, a windshield, wheel bearings, poor alignment, with the drivers window stuck half way up and the airbag light on, it wouldn't be worth much. A good running, clean vehicle, with no dummy lights is what people expect...including dealers. That makes it worth good value, not good value + your investment
    4. Dealers make a profit selling your vehicle, get over it or sell it yourself.
    5. Your vehicle is NOT worth retail value to any dealer and the vehicle they are selling is worth more than wholesale.
**IF THE DEALER IS OFFERING YOU RETAIL FOR YOUR TRADE YOU ARE WITHOUT QUESTION OVER-PAYING FOR THE VEHICLE YOU'RE BUYING!**
    6. Your vehicle is not in perfect condition.
    7. Your zip code plays a crucial roll in vehicle value. i.e, a 2012 F250 King Ranch 4x4 is likely worth more in Lander Wyoming than in L.A
    8. Nearly ALL vehicles depreciate, yours included

Keep all that in mind and be "reasonable" when negociating. Have a look at www.cargurus.com and see what others vehicles like yours in your area are listed for (see #5) Car Gurus even filters by a good deal.

This is the other apron I bought on Amazon Prime to wear while juicing citrus at Puck.

    IMG_0510.jpg

There is a good chance I will never wear this thing outside the house (it will be great for washing Mandy), because quite frankly I think it is too nice!

    IMG_0512.jpg

Like the white apron that is now kept at Puck, this one came with matching sleeves.

    IMG_0511.jpg

According to two different bartenders at Puck, I look like I'm read to commit surgery or perform a murder when wearing these vinyl/plastic full-length aprons. This one this no different...

    IMG_0517.jpg

Wait a minute, did I just say "commit surgery and perform a murder"...?

You know what I meant to say!

Unlike the white apron, which has a traditional neck strap, this one has two straps that go over the shoulders and cross behind the neck. The straps then go through two tight cutouts on either side of the apron. This is supposed to make the apron more comfortable to wear for long periods.

I just ordered two more for the cook at Puck. He saw mine, liked it, and wanted to two (one black and one blue. Total came to $29.68 and he paid me an even $30 in cash up front.
