216,000 on my 08 1gr. It runs great and I put roughly 500 miles a week on her going back and forth to work. I expect 300,000 before I’m thinking of a new one.

135K on my 2010 and it runs like new. I am 40 years old and it wouldn't surprise me a bit if I still have this truck at 60.

Highway miles are easy on the powertrain so wearing a truck out going 75-80.. zero chance of that.

I was talked out of grinding the dealer-applied coating off.

Do you think the stuff on my truck was applied correctly or do you think my frame will eventually completely rot from the inside out?

Yep my buddy had one of those! With the removable top. It probably made 45 horsepower but it was a tank!

Dont worry about the stuff toyota sprayed. From what i've heard its not cheap stuff at all and they spend alot of time cleaning the frame before application. In fact when mine was done it was in for like 5 days, 3 for prep 1 for coating 1 for curing. I'd just bring it to krown or get it fluid filmed yearly still. The only time this type of coating fails (excluding cheap shit) is when the surface is not properly prepped trapping in old salt, grime and rust allowing accelerated rusting. Toyota already took a hit in reputation from the initial frame issues so they're not going to half ass something that'll cause frame failure. That would'nt be good for buisness because that owner would'nt want another one lol

UPDATE (December 2018): Uber allows people to use vehicles as old 1998 for Uber Eats, and obviously since its food instead of people, there isn't a 4-door/4-passenger requirement. As such, I've signed up for Uber Eats and have been doing it for about three weeks now!

I get attached to any car/truck I own, but like previously stated by others, when its time to go its time to go. I had a 93 accord that was in my family for 23 years and 400K miles I recently sold. It was rotting away and needed to be driven, the new owner loves it and now has 410k miles! I've parted ways with my first car (68 vw bug), but I love the Tacoma and my S2000. These are cars I do not plan on getting rid of anytime soon.
