Tip: If you do change the fluid yourself, make sure you remove the fill plug first before the drain plug. Especially if the fill plug has never been removed before.

 

Might as well change the drain plug and fill plug gasket. They are truly crush washers. Some will tell you they don't need to be changed. I will tell you otherwise.

Forgive me if I'm asking too much in a public forum but, when did you receive your diagnosis? What was the experience like? Were your parents supportive of the diagnosis, and how did they succeed in supporting your social development?
I ask because I work with children on the Autism spectrum, and overall, their parents are pretty top notch, but always looking for perspective.

Diagnosed in late 1998 at age 9 by a pediatrician in Virginia Beach. I just know him as "Dr. Casey". I did not find out until August or September 2000, at the age of 11, while snooping through my mom's files. My parents were very supportive of the diagnosis, though I was a wee bit pissed off about their decision to keep it from me. They said they kept it from me because I was so young and they saw no need to tell me at the time. Looking back, I kind of understand this. My parents were definitely top notch, but the problem I encountered in public schools was being treated like a retard, for lack of a better term. I had several genuinely great teachers, and thankfully I was never in any of the classes for low-functioning special needs students. However, I was bullied a lot in school because I was (A) the new kid, and (B) "different" in the eyes of the other kids. The reason I was almost always the new kid is because my dad was in the Navy for 25 years and we moved lot.

 

My Tacoma was "attacked" by a rogue trashcan! Luckily I was able to avoid hitting it...
