I changed the wording a bit...

Also, my Uber account is linked to my bank account.

Some pictures taken next to the Travis Manion memorial (next to the Puck parking lot) on February 28th, 2019...

I thought they turned out quite well!

I switched from the stock 15" wheels and factory Dunlop rubber in October 2013, at about 32,000 miles (the tires were getting worn).

I replaced them with 16" Platinum Apex wheels and BFG tires. I blew out three of the four BFGs over the course of 2015 and ended up with a complete set of new Toyos. The Toyos were replaced with Michelins in October 2017. Less than 16,000 miles later (78,xxx when Michelins were installed; 93,777 as of this thread), the Michelins are showing wear, and a mechanic friend is saying I have about 5,000 miles left on the front tires. I had the tires rotated at the dealership where I work (substantial employee discount) in October 2018, due to wear.

After talking it over with my dad and a friend, I'm thinking it might be better to go back to 15" wheels (either stock or aftermarket).

What do the people of TW think?

I have decided to put my stock wheels back on, and my truck will look something like the one in the photo above...

What do you think of my plans for the wheels and tires?

What are you doing to the tires?
    Driving hard?
    Hitting stuff?
    Are the rims bent? Scuffed?

It makes a difference as to what the solution is.

One of the rims is scuffed on the lip, but they are not bent. I am not hitting stuff with the wheels (if I am, it is not hard enough to damage them). I don't think I'm driving that hard (I'm a bit leadfooted at times, but nothing out of the ordinary).

I just think having larger wheels and tires has thrown things out of whack...

I think having 16-inch wheels is causing my tires to wear out faster...

Alignment was checked recently and was good...

I am looking at BF Goodrich Radial T/A, General Grabber, and Yokohama Geolandar...

My current Michelins are great tires, but I don't think they're meant for trucks and that's why they're wearing out so quickly...

The friend/neighbor who installed my stereo and backup camera thinks I should go bigger and get 19" wheels! :puke:

Factory tires are 215/70R15 and current tire size with 16" wheels is 235/60R16. Current rims are 16" Platinum Apex in black (no longer made; See profile pic).

    @Taco critter

This is what that same neighbor thinks I should do to my truck, and frankly I agree with him!

    IMG_1644.jpg

However, as much as I love my truck, I am satisfied with it in its current state and would really rather buy a house by the time I turn 36 than live with my parents until I'm 40!

Plus, this area is full of bored suburban Nazi cops who would love to pull me over for "wheels extending past the fenders"...
