When my boss still lived in her old house, there was this young woman who lived around the corner and had an obnoxious little dog. Problem was, you no way of knowing this little shit was outside until it was too late. The dog would bark and growl, and come right up to the fence. The bitch who owned this dog would say "oh, she's in her yard, she can do what she wants." One time, after being startled by her dog, I told this woman she should invest in a bark arrestor, and she flipped out. She acted as though I'd just slapped her in the face or told her to go fuck her mother.

At one point, I'd finally had enough, so one day when I knew she was sitting on her front porch reading with that stupid dog by her side, I drove past her house. This was right after my neighbor helped me put the subwoofer in. While sitting at the stop sign, I put on "Bat Out of Hell" and cranked it as loud as I could possibly stand it...

I did not want to make eye contact with this woman, so I didn't look at her and thus didn't really see her reaction, but I probably made her jump.

You want to be obnoxious? I've got plenty of obnoxious stashed behind my seat...

I've been offered "right of first refusal" on a 2007 Chevy Suburban 2500 LS 4x4 by this guy I know. The 'Burb has only 63K original miles and was originally a government vehicle. A county organization (forget what) purchased this Suburban at an auction only open to government/municipal organizations. I know a guy who works at this organization and have become quite friendly with him. He knows how much I love this particular Suburban. My contact was involved in an accident in this Suburban that was not his fault, when someone ran a stop sign and he T-boned them. The Suburban had significant front end damage and was expected to be totaled, but there was no frame damage and the airbags did not deploy, so they fixed it. The Suburban is excellent shape from what I've seen. It is silver/beige with a beige cloth interior. The factory radio died, so the county entity installed the cheapest touch-screen head unit they could find. If I bought this Suburban, the cheapo head unit would be among the first things to go.

My only gripes about this Suburban (or any Suburban) are that it does not have an open bed, and that this particular one is three years older than my truck. However, it has everything else I'd want in a vehicle; V8 power, 4-wheel drive, a powerful air-conditioner, and plenty of room for people and cargo. I really don't want to sell my Taco, but this Suburban is very tempting. If I play my cards right, I could probably get it for right around what I could get for my Taco.

I would always want 4x4 in my vehicles. And haven driven these exact vehicles for government work I can say they are pretty good. I would go for it and after a few months if you don’t like it, sell it and get back in a Tacoma.

I’m a person that if I want something I go and get it. If you really want it you will find a way.

And then there's my parents giving me the "You can't afford it" speech...

I could afford the Suburban, but then there's the gas and insurance, and the fact that it was wrecked bad enough to be towed.

True but you’re a grown ass man. I would save up for a 4x4 Tacoma over the suburban though.

I could afford a 4x4 Tacoma right now, but I don't want payments...

And I'd rather save up for a house.

Have any pictures? Seems like a government spec vehicle here.

Yes, I have pictures, but it's not "government-spec"...

It's a Suburban with the super rare LS trim; No leather seats and no Bose speakers. Unlike the 1500, which had three trims (LS, LT, and LTZ), the 2500 only came in LS and LT.
