    No, there's a letter that corresponds to that ratio. Typically, our 5-lugs had 3.31 for MT and 3.56 for AT but don't ask me to contradict Homertaco since he's probably forgotten more about our trucks than I've learned in two years. The tire size calculator might allow you to infer your axle ratio from your tire size and the rpms displayed.

    After seeing the video of the '07 Taco 5-lug with 1.2 million miles on it, I have no doubt my truck will not need a new engine in this lifetime. I've had my truck for almost a decade, and as of right now have a little over 96K miles.

    That said, if my transmission goes (transmissions seem to be weaker than engines), I would be totally down with the idea of swapping my slushbox for a manual transmission.

    My biggest concern is the location of the parking brake. Stick shift 2nd Gen Tacomas have the "pull and turn" parking brake handle located to the right of the steering column. Automatic 2nd Gens have a push-to-release foot pedal located near the left kick panel. Toyota obviously gave stick shift Tacomas a parking brake that was up and out of the way for a reason. If I converted my truck to manual, would there be a problem making the clutch and the parking brake fit?

    Obviously you're talking about the tires the truck came with? My truck came with 215/70R15s. Now I'm rolling 225/70R15s for a beefier look...

    My 2010 Tacoma has 96,461 miles as of this post. My transmission has unsurprisingly never had an issue, but automatic transmissions seem to fail before anything else in my opinion (engine, etc). I don't think I will put enough miles on my truck to kill the transmission (I plan on keeping my truck until 2025, at least as a daily driver; By this time I believe I will have 150K-170K miles on the clock).

    How long does the 4-speed slushbox really last?

    Some of you might also be wondering how I ended up with a 4-banger/slushbox Tacoma...

    I did not know how to drive a stick shift at the time, and my dad felt that a stick shift would be distracting for me. My dad was buying me a brand new truck, so I wasn't complaining. Honestly, I'm glad I have an automatic when driving in the suburbs...

    My dad's Yukon has a 3.42 limited-slip rear. I'm guessing the fact that he has four more cylinders than me has something to do with this...

    How hard would it be to convert to 3.73s (On my truck, not the Yukon)?

    E-lock 3rd member will not fit any non e-lock housing. It's a non-issue.

    If the axle shaft splines on a 5 lug are the same as a 6 lug (which I'm pretty sure they are not) you could in theory use a 2005-2008 TRD Hino Mechanical LSD from a TRD Sport. But I'm 90% the shafts have different number of splines.
