I wonder if my supervisors would allow me to take my current balance of 326 hours at once? It works out to 32 - 10 hour days. Which at 4 days/week would be 8 weeks. I could leave the start of october, and not return until January (with all the holidays and such during that time frame).

My only vacation is for hunting and fishing. That uses about 10 days if i use all 10 I schedule. I get 5 weeks a year though! We can only accumulate 200 hours though. We can cash them in though once you hit 180. I cashed 60 hours in and used it to put a lift and tires on my truck. Hopefully next year I can do about the same thing and get my armor and sliders.

I get 4 weeks off per year and I use every single one of them.
Next year will be 5 weeks. Plan to take 3 off in a row and drive the whole family around the country.

I would totally cash mine in if I could. The only time we can is at retirement, other than that, use or lose anything over 240 at the end of the year.

The wife and I have been saving vacation days to do the same thing next year. Also, did I see your truck at REI in KOP the other week?

Nope - there’s a look-a-like floating around up that way. Your the 3rd person to ask me that.

I was out that way earlier this week but I was in the FRS, not the truck.

Guess I'll jump on the bandwagon too.

2 weeks per year for the first 5 years, to be taken as full weeks. July 14 will be the start of year 4 for me.

At year 5, its 3 weeks per year, 1 week can be taken in days or sold back. 2 weeks still taken as full weeks.

At year 13, 4 weeks, 2 weeks taken as full weeks.

At year 23, 5 weeks with 2 as full weeks.

At year 32 or 33 (depends on my age then) I get 52 weeks of vacation.

Additionally, I get 5 personal days a year. If I work on MLK, that's a floating "holiday", so really 6 personals.

We also have a good boy day for every 6 months of not being late, so 2 more personals per year. My boss gives our department 2 "late freebies" for the good boy day and yet people still fuck that up.

I have 176 use or lose right now! I’m earning a day a pay period, 26 days a year.

Since i doubt i will use more than the 80 some that i have now this year, i will end up with 156 use or lose during the first week of next year. I'm still only earning 6hrs/pay. I just hit 9 years with NAVSUP, so ive got 6 more years until i start earning 8/pay.

I use every second of mine. There are salmon to be caught, and deer to be hunted.

I’m taking a week in August, one in October, three in December.

187.5 hours max roll over ... and I could barely get approved for 37.5 hours off. Cause I’m the only “me” at my job.

“Wait you’ll be gone a week?? Who will do shipping? Who will pull books and equipment and fix equipment and who will unlock in the morning? Who’s gonna restock the printer paper? And the fax machine?” -_-

Fuck if I know. Figure it out. I’m entitled to over two weeks of vacations and a lot of sick leave.

Not. My. Problem. *sigh* work has gotten significantly worse each year. We went from 5 people to 2...and a half ish. In a matter of two months. Yay!

    Me? I’m .. eh

My actual title: Instructional and Equipment Specalist at the Bucks County Public Safety Training Center which is two separate locations/ satellites of Bucks County Community College.

What that means: I print, pack, ship all the class room materials to where ever the class is being held from tiny little bucks to state to anywhere world wide that we teach. I also maintain, inventory, prep all of our equipment and two facilities for classes being held on and off site. I also evaluate and act as a test site coordinator for about 20 different Proboard testing levels that we offer. Annnnd as of last week, I am a non-suppression Instructor.

Short version? I work at the third/ fourth(?) largest fire school in the United States. Second largest in PA. And I lift things up and put them down.
