Thanks, I don’t want to do any cutting and would rather stay on stock suspension for now. I will definitely double check and make sure it’s for the tires I want. Thanks for the info on the max tire size stock.

 

Every time there is a talk about wheels /tires, I remind myself about putting mine for sale, and keep on forgetting... Ehh

 

It was a big oops. I had the parts for nearly 2 years prior to the install and missed the fact that the oil housing adapter was incorrect. Needless to say you become an expert in a short period of time on what's needed.

Looking back now I think that the group (@loosnut, @6 gearT444E, and myself) could really do the whole install in less than a day. With all the correct parts that is.

 

What kind of tires/wheels do you have? Out of curiosity of course.

 

He's correct. 265's are the way to go with stock suspension.

 

Awesome awesome... deciding which tire to go with. Cooper’s and BF goodrich’s unless anyone else has any recommendations?

 

I lost the rear drivers side tire @ 40mph with both my kids in the truck due to not having the wheel studs properly seated... Most frightened I've ever been behind the wheel ever.

Thank God no one was hurt and @TOYTONKA came to my rescue at a moments notice.

For reference, I have the OME setup with 285/75/16s on Method NVs. Had light rubbing but would hit really good when hitting a bump at low speeds. Decided to go to AOAA for the TW meet so I had to cut. Not really a big deal. I cringed, a lot, but it was worth it for the fun I had an the look my truck has.

Personally I'm a fan of Nitto. I'm on my 4th set.
Terra Grapplers would be a good choice for you.
I got over 30K on my Terras and now have Trail Grapplers (35x12.5x17)

285/75/16 Cooper ST Maxx. Love these tires. 30k miles and still 70% tread life.

 

Oh yes I can tell everyone here is like one big family willing to help each other out which is amazing. That is definitely scary, I’m glad that both you and your family are ok though. That’s definitely scary.

What size lift are you running? To fit that size tire. Unless that is what you were referring to when you had cut for AOAA. If so I apologize.

 

Agreed 285's are IMO the perfect size for a 3" lift with minor clearancing.

Our new friend @19taco4x4 is looking to stay close to stock which is why I recommended the 265's

Yes that is with the Old Man Emu setup. Weird thing is on my 2006 I had the identical setup and barely ever rubbed. I never cut the mounts on that.

If I had never went offroad I wouldn't even cut the mounts and I'd still run that size but it's a must if you go off road.
