Thanks for the responses to my question about the fumoto valve. Anyone have any input as to the F103N vs. F103S? One appears to have a longer nipple. I know @M192 mentioned that he cut his shorter for wheeling. I'm wondering if the short should be considered? I have some skids, so it would be somewhat protected. At least what 3/16ths steel will hold up to. I don't have much experience with wheeling hard, but it is in the plans in the next couple of years.

    got 2 questions,
1st.... how did you cut your top sheeting ? @HolyHandGrenade anything?:notsure:
2nd …..and not trying to be a dick head and I could be quite wrong , out of safety reasons shouldn't there be some sort of plastic or aluminum shroud around the gas fill to help reduce spark ? hate to see the truck go boom

I think mine would work but it just scared me how close it was to the skid. I dont know how much the skid flexes when I smash a rock or something. But my trans skid has been bent more than once.

I've fucked up at least one IFS skid bad enough that I don't want anything poking down.

If you plan the dates I wouldn't mind the 101 course myself, then maybe explore some greens and blues. Wont be modded enough to be comfortable with anything else, but it someone knew the area it would be fun to explore with someone that knows the runs.

I'm new to the flintlock world, and still have to fight the flinch. I just try to shoot enough before the season. Not happening this year. I've only got about 20 rounds downrange. On the upside, I am locked in off a rest. Now to get the offhand dialed in. I take a shooting stick, but not driving.

In hadn't thought of that, so glad I asked some that actually wheel. So I am assuming the shorter option would be the best. Or @M192 since he cut his might be the best option for running a fumoto valve. I know @Urineovrurhead ran one with these skids. I just don't know what one. He builds his stuff pretty well. I think I am going to chance it, and just keep an eye when I wheel. I guess best to keep a spare plug and oil for the first few times, and if I do serious wheeling until I make sure it isn't an issue. Has anyone had an issue with a skid getting bent into a Fumoto valve?

My original plan is to maybe the the course & then meet up & hit some trials the following day & go camping the 2nd day. Or something along those lines... my truck is still full stock (base model) except falken wildpeak 265/75r16 on stock rims, mobtown front bumper, pelfreybilt ifs skid(which I need to touch up this spring) & a cb radio that I'm gathering parts for now. No sliders yet...

Nice man, I'm in the same boat pretty much. I just went a different route for a start. I started with my lift and tires. I added full skids this summer. I need sliders before I want to go to an offroad park. I would like to get bumpers as well. So I'm creeping the threads looking for what I want at a good price. If not I'll save my money until Mobtown does their tax sale and get what I can then.

Hoping to possibly squeeze in sliders in @ the same time... that'll be great! As far as rear bumper goes I'm just gonna wait the the stock gets beaten to death first. Only have the front bumper cuz of insurance check lol.
