Ok guys, I'll hang on to it. I do want to get a heavy body armour-type bumper for the rear with a hitch eventually. Just too pricey now. I also want to install a limited slip in the rear, and rear disc upgrade. I just need "great flippin' wadges of cash":ballchain:

    Hey Guys.

I replaced the rear suspension of my truck with 4600 and heavier leafs. I was looking into getting a shop install the front shock/coils and LBJs. Does anyone know a good shop in the Chester County area? I have all the parts to do the work. Debating doing it myself as well.

    Thanks!

    Tom

Some where, in a box. I left it in its original livery, white top, blue bottom, 1/4" plate steel push bumper up front. My wife was not fond of it when ever she had to drive it. Plenty of room for three car seats, side by side on the back bench seat though! It was a beast! 318 w/posi-rear, heavy duty battery & trans. still had the spot light. Had to have the hole welded closed on the roof from the lights that were there.

That’s an option as well. Although, I’d do a supercharger.

One thing for sure, the anemic 80s 454 would need to go.

Tony from KORE, is building me a rear. Easy to work with and very reasonable on price.

Ain't nothing worse then tearing a car apart to do the windshield and then the skys open up on us. Wtf. Luckily we didn't pull the window out yet. But still stuck in limbo rn.

Those of you that are snorkled up. I've seen two completely different set ups. My question is for the early 2nd gens did you have to custom bend a pipe to connect the fender to the intake?

The directions I have mention cutting a small portion of the intake tube, but not bending a pipe. Could this be due to the secondary air filter added to later 2nd gen models? I have little mechanical knowledge, but want to do this right. If anyone can tag me in a link to a good thread or just offer some advice/insight I would appreciate it.

I'd also welcome any do's, dont's, lessons learned as well.

I just used a flex tube from Advanced Auto and a rubber reducer from the plumbing DEPT in HD to connect to the stock intake. Been that way for years now.

This seems way easier than custom bending a 3" piece of stainless or aluminized pipe. Did you silicone the rubber after installing the clamps?

    No, I did not.
And that’s the difference between airflow and safari. The safari snorkel that I have was meant for a hilux install not a Tacoma. Airflow was set up specifically for the Tacoma application.
I believe the new Safari versions are now Tacoma specific

I believe that mine is also a safari set up for a hi-lux. Mine was set up for AFE, so I'm trying to piece the kit together and go from there. I'm over thinking this too much though. It's plumbing, combining plastic and rubber with hose clamps. I over think every project because they inevitably end up with 3 trips to Lowe's or HD. Someday I'll have the experience to have the proper forethought.

I have a set of skids that's were home made, but well built. The transfer case skid mounts to the frame where the sliders box (mobtown bolt on) the frame.

I'm thinking it is best to mod the slider, but I'm unsure of the best way to tie into the slider/frame. Looking for ideas/advice

I would need to see it to be able to assist. There are too many variables to help you without looking at it Unfortunately. :(

All I can say on the snorkel is if you buy the Safari for the Tacoma, it comes with everything necessary for the install.

If you're anywhere outside of that, you're probably going to have to rig something.

Hey @19taco4x4 I don't see you posting all that often here anymore, and maybe I missed it, but.... A while ago you posted an odd issue anda runaround with the dealership . How did you make out with that stuff?
