Well I’ve only been off 1 week and it seems like forever!

 

Well what was the condition it was returned in? I can't imagine they stole it and didn't drive the wheels off.

Tax implications at time of sale of home: they've simplified it thank heavens. You still need to keep track though. Depreciation deductions taken for the home office itself are considered capital gains at time of sale, ouch! But who does that anyway; most folks depreciate the chairs and computers and printers but not the walls and floors. The other gotcha is that the home office needs to be in the same building as you reside in. If you use a garage or other outbuilding it gets complicated again.

Commuting expenses can definitely pile up. I had a Subaru STi, a car with crummy gas mileage, around 22MPG, downhill with a tailwind. And it needed premium gas. Also I was using the PA Turnpike and paying tolls. And gas was in the $4 range at the time. My costs were so high that I was able to justify buying another car with much better gas mileage (Honda Fit); the savings in commuting costs covered car payment and insurance!

 

Been working form home since the 13th. Self quarantined the whole family, when I go to the store, it has been respirator and gloves. Definitely strange. At least we are both still working (from home) and still getting paid for now. Stay Safe, Friday Zoom Happy Hour Tonight!

 

I got out yesterday and explored a local area I've heard about forever. Definitely a place to take the kids. It was easily 20 degrees cooler in that hollow. I'm going back today with a friend that has more knowledge of the area. Supposedly, there are caves that I didn't get to.

 

Armyhater, tell me more about Margie's pond (I'm from Shippenville and work at Clarion Hospital).

 

I don't think so. There may be some Creek chubs, but because it is a local hang out, it would get fish's out if there were anything in there. Most creeks in the area get too warm for natives. There is another bigger Creek that comes in about 1/2 mile upriver and it gets stocked pretty well.

 

@M192 that oxbow bend may need explored a little more. I've floated it once. Limited access and would require an all day plan, about a 3-4 hour float to that point or launch in the middle and paddle up float down. Once you float past that point it'll take about 2-3 hours to get to the next area. Good smallie, some walleye, possibly a ski or two.

 

Everything but power.. it's due the 1st week of the month instead of the last!
