Non-tacoma content here, lookin for some suggestions. PB blaster isnt gonna cut it with these....ideas for getting these screws out so i can get replacements? Need to prep this spoiler for paint and want to remove the third brake light lens to get it prepped correctly.

If you have a dremel type tool I would suggest cutting a straight line across the screws head and using a big flathead screwdriver to break the screw free. Looks like a grinder cutoff wheel is to big to fit in there. The other option is drilling it out but run the risk of breaking the plastic tabs or melting them.

Depending on the screw size(10-32, 8-32 ETC.) use a drill bit a size up from the thread size and drill in the center until the head breaks loose. Remove the brake light mount and soak the threaded part with PB blaster or the like then with a good pair of vise grips grab the remaining threads and remove the screw. This option may not be good if not enough threaded screw will be left out to grab. Looks tight where it is mounted, but a small vise grip should work. :fingerscrossed:

My only concern is i have no idea what size the thread portion of the screw is. I can always just start out super small to be safe i guess.

Actually you would be better off going bigger. Smaller would only drill into the threaded part of the screw and make it weaker for holding with vise grips. or on another note, if you have access to a Snap-on dealer I had bought these when I was turning wrenches and they work quite well. The stock number on them is 5ACP so ask the Snap-on guy and show him the picture.

    You'd better beta-test that for a while kiddo. ;)

I ran some grills for 4-6 weeks before releasing them for sale.

    Just my $.02

Build some stock first then do it.

It typically doesn't end up well when people need to order items for the seller to be able to buy material

Seems a bit extreme, but may be the only way they can understand the problem.
