2nd gen shortbed Leer cap for sale. Previous owner bedlined it and I sprayed it with rustoleum high temp satin black paint to give a nicer look, even paint throughout.

$400 has two new locks, handles, and keys. Comes with mounting bolts and t-nuts. Sliding front and side windows.

    Located in Pittsburgh Pa

I'm posting these here since for whatever reason I'm still locked out of posting in the Northeast CL thread.

You know how it goes, when you have one and don't need it they magically appear so I bought them to help out my fellow TW members looking for one. I know first hand how hard it is to find a cap for these trucks.

Speaking of caps...has anyone dealt w/Jeraco or Leer factory outlet in Milton?
Is one better than the other?
I don't know what cap I need/want yet but I know that'll it only be on for hunting trips out west.

    Leer > Jeraco IMO

I’ve had a few Leer Caps and my Dad has a few Jeraco ones. I personally feel the Leer is built better. They feel more stout.

Dang, seeing these cheap caps makes me wish I didn't let the dealer take off the cap that was already installed on my truck when I bought it...

In other news my old faithful laptop of 9 years is finally starting to bite the dust. I never used it as a laptop so its been plugged into my monitor for years. The battery crapped out years ago and the keyboard fried when I spilled beer all over it. That an it's just getting stupid slow (4gb ram and a 5400 rpm HD will do that...). Was just going to go cheap and go for a $250 micro PC, but research led me to realize just for my light use (web browsing with music on Youtube playing in the background) it wouldn't suffice. Decided to pull out the old computer server case out of the basement to see if it was any good. Was an old AMD 764 set-up back in the day until a cap blew on the board. $530 later I think I got enough parts to put it together. 16GB of ram compared to 4 is going to be nice. Haven't built a computer in years, this aught to be fun! Used to build computers all the time until I turned 16 and got into cars.

I spoke to both companies this past week and asked each one what's the difference between the two.
I kinda heard the same from both...ours are better because of this or that.
So I'll take a ride out and find out...it's probably only 1 to 1.5 hour drive.
Actually I'm quite surprised how close they are to each other.

I think if I were to go back when I got a cap I would try to get a Leer instead of my ARE

You know where I live!! :D

Good mornin', fellow Pennsyltuckyvanians!!! Another Monday rears its ugly head. But, I'm winding down now - yesterday should have been our commencement ceremony and my last "official" duty as President of the college for the year. I've just got to help shepherd next year's budget through the Board and I'm done.

    Stay safe!!
