I've lived in the Deep South for several years, while I enjoyed the heat and no snow I didn't enjoy being stuck 30 years in the past (I'll leave it at that). Yea I'll bitch about the snow and cold weather in PA, but I ain't leavin' again!

That all makes sense. Out here in Pittsburgh I encounter a lot of younger people that complain about an inch of snowfall, so it tends to wear on me after a while. You are justified in complaining.

In my younger years, we would call out of work, grab the kids and go sledding for the day:D.
Then home for a nice hot dinner:hungry: and bed time( being out in the weather all day tuckered me as well as the kids out). Now (if I was up there) I would sit in the truck and watch the kids enjoy the ride.. The body just can't handle the cold as well (knees especially).
    Be safe and be careful.

Still a few flurries but this one is done. Spent a couple hours and dug out her car. It was easier to cube it with a shovel and judiciously pile the snow.20210202_203245.jpg

I remember that one as well. I bought my house that year and also decided to buy a used quad and plow. I spent 6 hours shoveling twice.

Respect. I didn't enjoy my 5 hours with snowblowers today -- "hours with a shovel" ... No thank you...

I'm not entirely sure what was worse.
Shoveling out house driveways on calls for the ambulance squads, or coming home, shoveling out my place, then running to the firehouse... and shoveling the sidewalks*** or doing it all over again today.

*** OR the discovery that for the first time in 14 years we (the trustees at the firehouse) are finally paying to include not only the parking lot BUT THE FUCKING SIDEWALKS TOO...

7 foot left to shovel, random person in the truck with plow slows down and yelled at me "Hey uh.. whatcha doing?" "Fighting sharks?... Shoveling snow..." "You uh, know we included that with this year's contract?" *there was a significant amount of very bad words.

*sigh* Alright, 3 days off, gonna go take a coma nap.

I think it was early February. At least i remember one in early February 2010. My wife was 8.5 months pregnant, and was walking around at 5cm dilated from pre-term labor that they stopped a week prior. We lived in a town home in a township with horrible plowing for our area. We’re talking days after the storm they’d finally get to our road. I forced us to stay at her parents, because I wasn’t playing Dr. and birthing our son stuck in our townhome. It all worked out, and the neighbors did our steps, walk, and parking spot before we got back two days later.

There was a big storm in February of that year as well, not as much snow but it was heavy wet snow with alot of ice. Brought down alot of trees and power lines.

Good morning fellow Pennsyltuckyvanians!!! We ended up with something like 20" over the course of the storm. Not bad but that last " was wet heart-attack snow. Not looking forward to more storms, though. I'm ready for pool weather.

    Stay safe!!

It was Super Bowl weekend in the western part of the state. I recall missing the game, but it being down my priority list. I had my 4 of my 5 grandchildren over, including the one who lives with me. He was about 1 1/2. Our power went out on Friday night and didn't come back on until Tuesday morning. Not a good thing when your well works on electricity, as does the spark to start your furnace. We had a fireplace fortunately, so we all huddled around it.
