    I used to hunt out that way myself. It's not far from me. Last time I was up that way was to eat at Harper's. It's a little dive restaurant with some killer food in English center right off of 287.

    Yep, It's actually a large restaurant/bar. When I was growing up in my teenage/bar years it was called Shot in the Dark. Wow, is all I can say. Then it was named Little Pine Tavern.

    You guys are great! My wife and I will be driving from Rochester to Hershey this weekend. I put together a route completely off expressway and noticed lots of side roads in and round the PA state land. Was wondering if they're private? Worth exploring? The one I mentioned seems to have access at both ends, some look like they're no outlet. My hope is that they are dirt roads with some wheeling action, but not enough to need a second vehicle.

    To my knowledge, the majority of the roads in that area are public. If it's private, it will say so and is usually gated. You picked a good route considering the leaves are starting to change. It is archery season and small game opens up this weekend also. So beware of traffic on Saturday on the back roads.

    English Run is always open. I'm not sure I've heard of Pine Run in the Game Lands? There is one south of that which comes out in Linden.
