    I was active in that thread for awhile. You do understand that buying a stock is buying ownership in a company, right? Anything you inject resources into is an investment, whether good or bad.

    Well, how do we even begin this...I think I'll just focus on what I inferred from the other person's comment. They said crypto isn't real while comparing it to company stocks and assuming they were real. Crypto is a lot more "real" than company stocks. Crypto is literally the same as the American dollar the second it left the gold standard. The money itself is nothing but paper, or number on a computer. Company stocks are just as unreal as crypto and the dollar. The second they crash they're nothing just like before they were invented. A "real" investment, like land, derives its value from utility which transcends whatever currency there is. In a few years when hyperinflation destroys the USD and the Chinese Yuan is our main currency "real" investments will maintain utility while people who had lots of savings or stock might end up with nothing.
