Penny wise and Dollar Dumb

I want to hear the stories of the builds or other things where you try to pinch a penny shopping around then end up spending far more than you had to on something else.

Example:You drive 2 extra miles to fill up on gasoline and save $0.50, but you don't have a problem paying $18.99 for a case of beer instead of $15.99 because its across town.

Better example:
Lets hear the story of how you built your own truck bed accessories or bumper and then, didn't shop around for the best deal on tires.

 

My buddies and I wanted to go to a strip club to celebrate a friend's wife's birthday. We wound up going to the one she works at, even though the cover charge and drinks are more expensive there, and it's all the way across town! In a just so so neighborhood. Not only did we go there, when we were ready to go home we had to pay for a damn cab because we were all too drunk to drive. Next morning, we're all hung-over as hell, but still get up early to go get our trucks we had left at the strip club. When we got there, our trucks had been towed because there was no overnight parking allowed! Shit like this is why I can't save up enough money to mod my truck.

 

Sounds classy..

 

I know it kinda sounds classy but it's really not. It's just expensive. It used to not be all that expensive but they put up a chain link fence around the whole parking lot and raised their prices. I just don't think I'll be going back there very often. At least not for a while.

PeeRunner, some people, not meaning you, have all these preconceived notions about strippers. His wife is just as sweet as she is pretty. Sorta like that saying, "she's just as pretty on the inside, as she is on the outside". I'm sure you've met people like that to.

Me too, Steves104x4, and I don't like it when people say, "Tuck a buck". It just sounds like they're making fun, or something. I don't know.

 

I don't judge people for the most part, and wasn't insinuating anything against her. It was just pretty funny to read that part.
