Thoughts have been lingering on converting to flatbed. Something like this but with different upper bars. Thoughts?

If it can be done and undone without much permanent modification, then I say go for it. If you have to cut up stuff to where it's not reversible, then I wouldn't.

Yea I also think it would be more or less bolted on.

If you do come up with some sort of bolt on application, where you remove the bed and can safely and sturdily attach a flatbed, I'd take a lot of measurements. As soon as you post up pics you're going to get slammed with PM's asking for them, and probably people asking you to make and sell a kit.

I wouldn't be completely against that. Fabricating stuff is fun. I wouldn't think if make too much money from it but I think I would enjoy it.

All the guys that seriously wheel their tacomas seem to have bed damage sooner or later. I'd expect great interest from those guys in a kit that allows them to save their beds.

You can probably haggle down the price since he is parting out his truck

Full ome kit with 882's,icon uca's, line x bed, 32" bfg muds, 2nd gen rims, low pro tool box,
That is sexy! But he definitely cut his frame right after the rear shackles. And kinda looks like he moved his rear axle forward some to shorten the wheel base.

You may be right. I wouldn't do that though. I would just remove the bed and design the flatbed to bolt onto the frame as-is
