Various people have said they have a hard time hearing me when I'm on a call. I realize the microphone is directly above my head so I have to talk up to it. Is there anything else I can do? Thanks

Have you tried adjusting the volume control on your phone? I was having a similar problem and the phone volume control fixed my issue.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
This was my first thought. If the bluetooth volume isn't up, I can't hear what's coming from the phone. I would assume it may affect the other way around.

There’s an outgoing voice volume adjustment in settings on the heads unit

Turn on Voice isolation. During a call on your actual iPhone. Makes it marginally better.

In my 19’ JBL HU I am pretty sure it’s displayed on the bottom of the call screen during a call.

I’ve started calls sometimes and they can’t hear me at all. It’s like my BT isn’t connecting my mic. I usually hang up and try to call back. It gets frustrating hearing them say Hello? A couple times than hang up. I had it happen on an F150 work truck before so I’m assuming it’s the Apple car play issue. Haven’t really researched it

Thanks for the efforts. I sat in the truck, called my wife and I do not have this screen.

The fact is the hands-free setup is not the best in the Tacomas. Some folks resorted to swapping out their head units and going with aftermarket mics if you do some searching…I looked when I first got my truck.

ya know, giving more details on your year and trim level would help those who are trying to help you understand what head unit you are working with.

coming back with "i dont have that screen" doesnt help anyone.

Have you tried unpairing the phone (or forget/remove) from the head unit then pair it again?

Just added toolbox and roof-rack to haul my fishing boat 100's of miles into the backwoods every week. Goodrich K02s, Bilstein 5100 front and back, no lift.
    Problem solved.

Speaking seriously (which I seldom do), I use bluetooth via my phone using the OEM setup on my 2016 TRD OR, and I have to turn my volume down or else my ears and the ears of other person get blown out.
