People stealing tie down hooks

I currently have zip ties threaded through holes in the cleat to prevent them from being rotated by a "quick grab thief". I am replacing the plastic zip ties with plastic coated aircraft wire rings which can only be removed by wire cutters (destroying them) or with needle nose pliers (normal removal without destroying them). While this will not prevent a determined thief, it will stop grab and run a**holes.

 

Been on my truck since I drove it off the lot, never had an issue since.

Of course now that I've said that...

 

I was going to say the same but didn't want to jinx myself. Haven't moved since 2005, but now they are going inside.

 

I keep mine in the bed storage bins since I replaced the latches with cabinet locks.

 

Sad that we have to tie down our tie downs.

 

What is different about tundra cleats?

 

Good idea, but what about if you have to move them?

 

I keep mine inside the truck unless i have to use them.
