A big freaking thank you to the asshole who hit my parked Tacoma while I was at the Zoo with my family and didn't leave any note... Guess I'll just eat the insurance deductible...
I just don't get it, if I ever did this, I'd wait around for a bit, then leave a note with my contact info..

The photo doesn't show how the fender/wheel-well liner is pulled loose, or how the bedside panel is tweaked further back behind the wheel well also.. Shit...

Yeah, I caught myself after a few choice expletives (zoo parking lot surrounded by kids, including my own)... Pisses me off.

Any cameras at the zoo? There's cameras every where these days. It's worth a shot to ask the zoo!

Calling them tomorrow (we found it after closing time), But I'm not hopeful. My dash-cam shows the white SUV parked on that side when I pulled in, but that doesn't prove it's the one who hit me

And that's why I park far far away. If I don't have a choice due to a crowded parking lot, I park even farther away. People in general do suck. If you were at a zoo, it was probably some mom driver with screaming kids that nailed your car and split.

    Sad news friend.

By the looks of the damage on your truck I think you need to have your insurance company completely replace your damaged suspension. New coil overs and KO2's. ;)

People suck. This happened to me once in a target parking lot and caused over $2k damage. A-hole didn't leave a note. We checked cameras too but unfortunately none had caught it.

Incidentally, one time I saw this happen. I saw a car back into another one that was parked, pause for a few seconds then drive away. I noted the license plate, wrote it down and put a note on the parked car telling them I saw what happened and gave them the license plate.

Dash cam with parking mode, this is why I got one. Also armor.

Cameras are tough luck...often times they are hesitant to show you the footage, or they are so poor quality you can't tell anything other than make and model. Who knows, maybe you could get lucky.

Also why are people so terrible? One, for hitting your car. Two, I guarantee you at least someone else saw it happen (especially at a busy place like the zoo) and didn't say anything either. One time, I was at a grocery store, watched a car hit another (causing pretty serious side damage). At least 4 people looked when they heard the noise, and then just watched the car drive away, then carried on with their day like nothing happened. I was the only one who noticed the plate and wrote a note. :annoyed:

    Doesn't matter, good enough!

Send it to your insurance. They will follow up (especially if you have any footage identifying their plate/vehicle), and likely find damage on the offending vehicle proving their fault. Find the local police and help hunt them down. I'd say if you can show white paint on your vehicle and it was a white car in the footage, that is already pretty justifiable, especially given the circumstances (people aren't in and out of the zoo frequently, unlike a bank or something).

I like to fight these things as hard as I can, idiots always need to be taught a (hard) lesson.

    Best of luck OP.

Wifey and I were out a few years ago for dinner at a nice restaurant...we had just parked and were walking from the back of the parking lot when some blue-haired man comes flying out of his parking space in reverse and slams to front of a newer-looking Porsche 911 parked adjacent to him. My mouth drops as I see him look around for a second and straight roll out. The wife worked in law enforcement and was quick to snap a pic and report it. I dunno if he was old, drunk, or both.

Moral of the story is...a lot of people suck. Hope they get theirs.

The Zoo has actually been really helpful on this, but it seems I managed to park in a spot conveniently obscured from their cameras by a tree  so they don't have much to work with.

Our best guess is that it was a visiting Browns fan, they tend to be bitter after visiting Pittsburgh. They see all of our trophies, then realize "aww crap, I live in Ohio!" and drive away angry and spiteful :D

Dash cam and send to your insurance. Do you have their plate from any other part of footage? I say go with it. Like I said, there will be corresponding damage on their vehicle that tells the complete tale.
