    Yup. Some people have other priorities in life. I have a friend that got a great deal on a used cream puff of a vehicle and pretty much destroyed it. I don't get it.

    Used vs. Not taken care of through neglect..... big difference.

    Nearly every woman I've ever met.

    Food crumbs, makeup smudges, hair, receipts, just general disregard for any semblance of cleanliness in a vehicle.

    On the subject of trashing vehicles, I don't get those people who say "it's a truck" and somehow that means it's less worthy than a car to be taken care of or give a crap about. Like "why bother wasting time washing it, it's a truck" or " who cares about that dent or scratch, it's a truck" or "left the windows open and it rained last night but so what, it's a truck".

    Or on a similar subject of trucks vs cars - the people who think why get a truck if you don't off-road. There are 1000 other much more common reasons to get a truck.

    OK, I'm done - back on topic.

    I keep my truck clean and maintained as best I know how. I drive it everyday. 10+ years old, with 184,000 miles and 3 kids. Most people who stop to tell me "nice truck" think it's like 2-3 years old (obviously not Tacoma people or they would know the age by the body style). My wife says I'm anal about keeping it clean but her car is like most people's cars - filthy. Food crumbs, dirt, dust, finger prints and that foggy film on the inside of the windshield. I try to clean it for her every once in a while and she appreciates it but just refuses to maintain the level of clean. Like removing the trash each day when you get home or not putting that banana peel down on the center console and leaving it there to bake in the sun all day. To each there own but not in my truck.

    I live in New England and deal with road salt each winter. But somehow, my frame is not disintegrating. :eek: Maybe it's because I wash it once every week or two through the winter. Yeah it's not gonna be show room level clean but removing the grime goes a long way.

    I live by the moto, “ If you can’t afford to replace it, you better take care of it.”

    I feel that my vehicle is an extension of me. Therefore when I go someplace it should be as clean as I am.

    It also says a lot about a person when they take care of themselves and their stuff. Not only that but it instills good practice when you borrow or use someone else’s property.

    I say that bout mine, as long as I’m the one who made the mistake, damage, etc.

    I don’t think it is supposed to a flagrant WFC comment. Rather I think it is brought on by what a truck personifies. Which is someone who uses the vehicle for work the whining “kids” of today won’t do, and it is accepted that the windows might get left open in the rain or the longhorn smashed up the door.

    Trucks=work
    Cars=night on the town
    Or so my great grandmother once told me. That is how depression era folks thought at least.

    Investments gain value over time. Liabilities lose value over time. I would think that most vehicles are liabilities. However if you take care of you liability, it will loss less value over said time.:cheers:

    And that is the “new” age. After all a truck can cost more than some high end luxury cars.

    Was not that way when trucks were first introduced. You bought the Chevy for the farm and the Cadillac for church/goin to town.

    That is the image in people’s minds still to this day

    Don’t get me wrong, I clean mine, wax, wash, vac...... I just don’t do it like I did when I was a “new” driver.

    Totally understand OP, it doesn't bother me at all when people trash their own stuff, but what does make my skin crawl is the general public's utter lack of respect for other people's property. You think it's bad enough they trashed their truck with trash etc, just think how much they wont bat an eyelash about giving you a door doing -theyre also the same people who'll hit your bumper in the parking lot and drive off because they dont give two :crapstorm: about their vehicle and probably cant be bothered for the time of day.

    Me, my truck probably gets washed way more often than it should and I try to limit food etc. But I also am human and shit happens, but I also clean it right away too.
