That can be good sometimes........like training prior to deployment in a hostile environment,

Or in an office where someone refuses to shower......

There's a Chinese proverb for messy people with messy cars. "The scrotum does not fall far from the tree."

Anyone who is constantly pointing out what everyone else is doing wrong usually has something to hide, imo.

I think I'm a direct representation of what the OP was talking about. My truck is not even a month old and I already have some melt marks in the bed from where hot steel was thrown after it was cut. Numerous scratches from driving down a "road" that was just a break in the timber and overgrown with 1" saplings. 3 chips in the windshield. Back seat folded down and covered with tools and clothes from field service calls as a mechanic. Seats have oil stains, interior smells like oil and cigarette smoke.

I use my shit. So what.

That and if a vehicle is dirty and slightly run down looking it will be less likely to get messed with. In some ways I really miss my 02 Dakota. You could put your hand through the rust holes, multiple dents, mismatched rims. But I left 6 ounces of gold nuggets on the seat in a jar and nobody ever thought to look in it when it was unlocked (door locks broken) because it appeared anyone driving it would not have anything to steal. You can never see mechanically sound, the rest is just a kind of camouflage or signs of work.

This was parked outside the emergency room a few weeks ago. Made me wonder if the stuffed contents were related to them being parked there

Hah...took a ride in my friends girls car the other week. Get in. Smells. Get out and pop the trunk. Thing is lined to the lid with clothes, bags, old drink cups, whatever.

I don’t care what people do with their stuff. But I sure as hell will talk shit about it. The entire 20 minute ride was just nothing but shit talk.

I probably would offend the OP because my truck isn't pristine. Not filthy so much, I don't eat or drink inside my truck beyond a mug of coffee and it's not full of trash.

But its 11 years old and it's job is to go places and do stuff, which in the desert of the western U.S. means it's always dusty and gets plenty of gravel and mud. I get in dirty and sweaty from rides, working, etc.

I gave up a long time ago spending free time detailing my truck. I give it a thorough wash, wax, vacuum and Fluid Film in the fall before winter really sets in and the rest of the year it's the once in a while though a self wash & vacuum to keep it from getting out of hand. I run cheap seat covers that I pull out and wash when they need it.
