why is this? stock location shocks can not be used for the cheaper version sua? and with bump cans(I think not, due to the nature of the shock being bottomed out, but that is me thinking out loud)?

The "cheaper" version is the "full LT version". The more expensive version is the 1/2 way there version, it is coming with extra parts to allow you to run stock shocks (extended bump stops that keep you from crushing your shock). That's why it costs a bit more.

I know some people said that using the stock locations has it's advantages and disadvantages. I'm not doubting the quality of the product. So far I haven't seen anything negative about Defined, but what would the disadvantages of using the stock locations be?

Less overall travel. Only nets about 10" with OEM location/style shocks. Reduced travel on both up and down travel.

Unless you're referring to using the Stock Leaf Hanger & Shackle bucket?

Well it is technically weaker as it' just stamped sheet metal. As far as I know there hasn't been any major failures as far as the mounts go.

Adding a shackle bucket cross-member like the Defined one or similar is a key strengthening device.

Other then that you should be fine. Basically just limited in droop by using the stock mounting locations

I agree but disagree with your droop and factory mounting locations.

Factory mounting location will yield 2 results.

You can run a longer shock to get more down travel but that will affect your bump negatively.

Respectively if you run a shorter shock you will gain bump travel but will take away from droop.

So in theory you can run the stage one but proper setup for shock length will be key. You want more droop youll have to extend the bump stop closer to the axle. You want more bump make sure your properly strapped.

I wasn't referring to shock length, that was covered previously. I meant using the stock/OEM Leaf Hangar & Shackle bucket limit droop, compared to DMZ etc.

so far i cant say anything negitive about using the stock leaf mounts , but i guess i am a little bias. i get the same overall bumptravel that the other kits out there get, but come up an inch or two short on droop compared to the others. its also a hell of a lot cheaper to install than traditional sua kits, can use your oem driveshaft and even the stock shock mounts if you want to sacrifice some travel . i could go on with the pros . but i cant think of any disadvantages. the oem brackets have been holding up great and with these trucks id prefer a riveted mount ,instead of welding to a heat treated frame. if there is disadvantages id like to hear them and the reasoning along with it.

You'll have to ask the Moncure brothers about the set up. They paid top dollar to have Tom Morris tune their suspension, so only they know.

    Sweet.

Sounds good, I'll be in touch probably mid-next year.

Now to decide if I want this kit first, or if I want to get a bullet bike first...

What length rear brake lines your guys running?

Just thought of the fact that I will need longer lines.

You should be fine with almost any off the shelf extended line kit. I am running AP lines and have plenty of line left with this much droop.

Has anybody had issues with the stock rear hangers/Defined shackles flexing and hitting the frame? I mean, with their shackle cross brace in place as well.
